As a Pastor or Christian Leader it is important for you to realize that the work you do begins first in your mind. We learn from scripture that much of the opposition we face is not natural, but spiritual: “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers; against the rules of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places” Ephesians 6:12 NKJV

Because it’s your duty to build up the kingdom of God you may be wrestling with principalities that are keeping you from sharing the message that God has put in your heart to say.

You may be wrestling with the spirit of fear. Fear of whether your audience will like your message or should you preach on a specific topic that is going to shake up your congregation but you know in your heart that it needs to be said.

You may be wrestling with the spirit of doubt. You doubt that all of your hard work will come to pass or whether you’re good enough to get the job done.

Or you may be wrestling with the spirit of lack. You lack the funds to take your ministry to the next level or to pay the help that will help grow your ministry so you sit back in a state of paralysis.
Even though you may be wrestling with these principalities, I have great news! We serve an awesome God who has given you everything that you need to expand your reach.

It is your duty to expand your reach and you must align your minds with what we know to be true.

A few of Truths to ponder are:

1.Your ministry was created to give God glory. The work you are to accomplish is specific to you, if you don’t do it, it won’t get done. Resist the temptation to believe that you are not cut out for ministry (or to reach the masses)…if you weren’t God would have chosen someone else. See Joh
17:4 and Acts 20:24

2.You must KNOW that you will succeed in this the Lord’s work. According to Webster’s Dictionary, the word “know” means to apprehend clearly and with certainty; to have established or fixed in the mind or memory. Knowing you will change lives, you will reach the masses, and you will accomplish your God-given mission is critical to you fulfilling your purpose. Opposition, distraction, and at times sheer fatigue are inevitable as you set to accomplish this privilege of sharing the message of Christ to a lost world. Be encouraged! God has called you to this work and He will prosper you. See Nehemiah 2:20 and Isaiah 55:11

3.Your mission is not for you alone. Every person called of God to an assignment, rather alone or with a team, is called to a God-sized assignment. What you are doing is so much bigger than you and your church. Your work can change nations! Keep this in mind as you move forward. See Daniel 3:28-29; 4:2-3; Acts 9:42; 2 Chronicles 20:29.
Expansion in Action Assignment

Answer the following questions:
1.What principalities are keeping you from expanding your reach? Fear? Lack? Not knowing what steps to take?
2.What has God called in your heart to do but you haven’t completed the assignment?
3.How are you hindering God’s kingdom by not expanding your reach?
