Spasmodic Dysphonia is a very nasty voice disorder which is, conventionally speaking, not treatable, let alone curable. Via my observations of many years of practise, it looks like it happens more to women rather than to men. I think that men are less emotional, less loud and/or much less flamboyant in their nature.

Interestingly enough, practically all of the women who came to me for treatment, before acquiring “SD” (according to them) were very active, very loud and yet very sensitive emotionally; and then… ”suddenly” they began to feel changes in their voice… It gradually began to deteriorate…

Those women, naturally, were very-much surprised experiencing the latter; and thus not agreeing with the obvious fact of the above-mentioned matter. They began to push and pull their voice trying to bring it to the surface while, concurrently, doing further damage to their vocal anatomy… Needless to say, after producing these very damaging manipulations with their voice, one day, it may become damaged for good.

One of my clients who came to me from Boston US said to me:

“Diana, recently, I was playing on stage with my band, I knew that I pulled and pushed my voice the very last time…!”
Indeed!!!

At the time when she came to me, her speaking and, especially, her singing voice was completely compromised. There was no live note present, her emotions were soaring through the roof, so to speak, and like the majority of women (primarily age 50 to 60) she was battling with her husband and her child, who was only 14 years of age - who she had in her early 40’s… She was 54 years of age at that time.

Of course, nonetheless, I completed my work with flying colours and even got 2 referrals from Marion W. She, apparently, returned back to her Bluegrass band and resumed her singing. Moreover, she divorced her doomed husband after being In therapy with him for a good while, and married a drummer from her band!!

The above information I found out from her referrals. They both said that her voice had been holding up very well and that she had never been happier with her newly found voice and her newly restored and enhanced life in general!!

Spasmodic Dysphonia disorder is a very debilitating disease that could also become a neurological disorder if the nerve endings inside of the vocal box become damaged in the process.

The victims of that disorder suffer exponentially, as furthermore, the medical doctors do not offer any treatment let alone of any natural holistic or alternative nature.

They primarily offer botox ( more useless poison to inject to the vocal cords)... Meanwhile, the victims of (SD) feel strangled ( voice -wise and otherwise)!! They feel that their voice and their whole body for that matter are “inside of the noose and that they just about to get hung”… Sounds horrible, but, unfortunately, it is a reality.

We can change it though. But the person of interest really has to want it!!

To conclude:
If you feel any unusual voice changes with your vocal performance, please address it immediately!!
If you don’t, you might lose your opportunity to recover it, and restore it, and thus regain your life back!!
