It is essential for pet owners to put up a dog fence so that their dogs will not be able to get out of the yard. One of the most popular varieties is a Radio Dog Fence compared to the traditional enclosures.

One benefit of having a radio Dog Fence is that it can be undetectable since the cables can be concealed under the ground or simply hung on the fence. You can still have a nice looking fence or garden.

This option is also more affordable than the ordinary wooden or wire fencing and does not affect the loveliness of your landscape format and design. The Radio Dog Fence is made up of a simple wire around the property and a hidden transmitter. If you are enclosing a wider area, the only materials you have to buy is extra wire.

On the other hand, the traditional dog fence entails a lot of costly materials, for example wooden panels, steel bars, wire and chain links. You also need skilled workers to construct the fence and this will call for additional funds for paying these people.

Maintaining the Radio fence is relatively easy. However, it is necessary to monitor the system for occasional power failures and other issues. Normally, manufacturers of Radio fences install a light that indicates if the circuit is functioning or not. This will tell you if there is need for minor repairs to be done.

Another benefit of this type of fencing for your dogs is the safety aspect. This particular type of dog fence emits a small ‘static correction’ through the dog collar when your dog enters the radio signal emitted from the wire several feet away from the fence.

This sensation is a little uncomfortable and helps train the dog but will never harm your dog. In case the dog attempts to get through, the dog gets a light shock. The wires do not pose any risks for as long as these remain under the ground.

Keep in mind that training is the key to the success of the system will only be effective if your pet has undergone the proper training. This training will teach the dog to connect the sound that goes off when it moves toward the fence with the shock it gets once it tries to breach the fence.

The dog is trained to go back upon hearing this warning noise. Training should continue until the dog gets accustomed to this method. This type of dog fence is only for your pet and will not keep other animals away. It does not prevent human beings from going through your front yard.

Many dog owners have been very happy with the results of a well chosen radio Dog Fence, being able to leave their gates open and be confident that the dog will not escape and get in to danger.
