Good morning and happy day!!!!
It is true; I do have a spring in my step, a song in my heart, and hope on the horizon.
This morning my oldest daughter Sarah and I went to an appointment together. We were able to spend some time together talking and laughing.
Then while we were out, I said “let’s stop at the grocery and pick up a few items”…..well while we were there I started to dance…Really! The music that was playing caught my ear and set my feet to moving. HA HA
Imagine Sarah’s expression, after she closed her mouth - she began to laugh. I told her that I was dancing to a different drummer. Can you hear the music?
This is what I’m talking about….listen to the sounds around you. What feelings do these sounds generate? And do you act upon these feelings? Sometimes yes – sometimes no? I guess it depends on the circumstance and your current mood.
But, music can change your tune….
How do you feel about the businesses that you enter and the soft playing, slow, drawn out melodies darn near put you under. I’ve been there….it is hard to wake up. People walk around in a stupor looking for a couch just to sit down.
Now I’m not talking about loud, obnoxious, rattle your head music. I’m talking about taking me back…back to when you could understand the words, snap your fingers and do a little dance. You know that “feel good” music. (Oh my gosh, I sound like my parents.)
Sounds around us can have such an impact. Negative or positive…you decide. You can change your outlook just by what you are listening to and what you give your attention to.
Music can be such a “beautiful thing.” It can relax us, it can energize us, and it can set us to “dancing.” It is also how we give thanks and praise.
What tune are you playing today? Are you enjoying your day? Are you setting your feet to a different drummer? I am. I am really enjoying these steps and I pray that you do also.
So, “Dance to the music….etc.” and remember make your difference count. Nancy
