Most people wish they could get into great shape, improve their appearance, and enhance their overall health. While they clearly understand that an effective physical fitness program is the way to achieve such a goal, they may not know what properly comprises such a program. Contrary to what some might assume, there is no magic or mystery to crafting a solid physical fitness program. All you really need are a few basic core components in place and you will find your program works for you. What are these core essential elements? Here is a brief overview of what these elements entail: You will need to pick exercises that are appropriate for the individual fitness goals you are seeking to achieve. If you want to greatly enhance strength free weight exercises like bench presses and squats are highly recommended. Those wishing to enhance muscular endurance would likely want to employ some body weight exercises. Anyone interested in maintaining a lean and ripped physique would want to do burst training and high intensity cardio interval training. Again, you need to match the correct exercises with your own individual goals. Exercises also may need to be changed when they become stale and you hit a plateau. In time, your body will adapt to any given workload. This means it will cease to change in response to your workouts. Changing the specific types of exercises you perform, the frequency in which they are performed, and the intensity levels in which they are performed is a must. As a certified Charleston personal trainer I can tell you that setting goals is also paramount in an effective physical fitness program. You will want to set short-term goals to serves as markers for your progress. This will help give you positive reinforcement and keep you consistent with your workout routines. None of these steps are hard to put into effect. Once you make a commitment to getting started and put forth some hard work and effort you will see significant improvements in your body composition and overall health. When designing Charleston physical fitness programs for my clients I always tell them that a proper diet will make or break their success. When seeking to get in shape, nutrition will be 70% or more of the equation in a body transformation. You will need to match dietary choices to your specific fitness goals. Someone looking to add 20lbs of muscle will need to greatly increase calorie intake while someone wishing to lose 20lbs of fat must reduce sugars and starches. Seek the advice and counsel of a fitness professional to help you build a fitness program that will best help you reach your goals. Your investment in formulating the right plan in the beginning will go a long way towards seeing that you’re happy with the end results.
