On June 1st, my Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Woman of the Year campaign came to an end. I am proud to say I was 1 of 16 candidates this year in San Antonio and we raised an outstanding amount of $1,126,107 for blood cancer! My team and I were able to raise $53,927 and more than 50% of my fundraising was thanks to many of the attorneys who read this magazine. Thank YOU!

Many of you who donated shared touching stories of how blood cancer has impacted someone you love. Thank you for sharing your personal connection with me and helping me see the wide reach of this disease.

Every candidate who raised $50,000 or more is able to fund a blood cancer research grant. Thanks to many of you, I reached that goal and am 1 of 7 candidates who have the honor of naming a research grant after someone later this year. I’ve selected to fund a pediatric and young adult blood cancer research grant after my friend Hercie Guel-Escobar of the law firm Chamberlain Hrdlicka. Hercie just celebrated 5 years cancer free, beat leukemia and breast cancer, and embodies the example of a strong woman.

Thank you all again for your support. We fought blood cancer TOGETHER and I truly appreciate every attorney who helped make this possible!
