Tartar Treatment Procedure Can be Quite Daunting

Teeth are fairly sensitive than you think. Even you brush them daily in the morning or at night the fear of any sensitive issue with teeth is always on. Some people usually don’t care about their teeth appearance after brushing their teeth even this is because they have a belief that every thing is alright if teeth are brushed regularly. You don’t bother to analyze the problem such as yellowish color of the teeth from the front and existence of small peaces of food within tooth spacing which then converts in to a dark coat covering some part of the tooth.

Basically tartar is the yellowish substance that covers the teeth specifically those areas which are usually ignored during brushing teeth. These areas are the back side of the tooth and the back teeth upper part. Upper teeth back side is also seen affected by tartar in many cases. Initially the food remains in our mouth if not removed joining with the acid secreted by the glands forms a substance called plaque which covers the areas of the teeth which are ignored. If its not removed then after some time this substance turns in to a very strong material which attaches it self with the teeth enamel and so weaken it gradually. If the enamel goes weaker and damaged then there are higher chances of gum disease attack.

Once the gum disease starts like Gingivitis and Periodontitis then it is very difficult to reverse them and they can become a life time problem. There is a very severe form of gum disease called Pieria in which gums bleed out easily by just pressing them from the inside and pain from cold and too warm foods and liquids is another sign. Many people take tartar very light but unfortunately it is a problematic issue. It is recommended to remove tartar on time. There is specific procedure called tartar scaling is done to remove it with some special equipment. As it is attached strongly with the teeth so it is removed by a small electric cutter scratching the tartar from the surface of the teeth. During the procedure the cutter some times touches the gum making small cuts which may cause bleeding but on minor level.

You have to ice cream after the first visit, typically tartar scaling procedure is done within three visits. I had gone through the procedure by myself and it was very painful for me because I had never visited a dentist before. Once I visited my friend in his school for dentistry where he accidently took me to the lab where he examined my teeth and diagnosed tartar issue which may lead to the initial gingivitis disease. He shocked me because I was ignoring the yellowish color of my teeth from many months. He gave me hope and settled an appointment for me with senior faculty member of his school of dental.

Things were going smooth until the first day with the scaling treatment I was frightened due to the tools with the treatment seat. The dentist smiled and start taking with me in a friendly or pleasant way just to reduce my fear. It was quite helpful and the treatment was done smoothly but with cuts on the gum which are unavoidable as the tartar usually makes its roots to the upper side of the gums which should be removed in order to prevent any gum disease. Dental colleges have excellent faculty members due to excessive experience of the field and highly qualified.
