It’s true that often we cannot decide what have to do, when and how. Very few people are born with strong mind and easily can decide what is to be ensured right at that moment when he is in a fix. To me, as have been taught by Ma-Mahajnan, a spiritual genius, it’s not as difficult as we think them to be. To develop power of reasoning associated with self control right from the very young age is earnestly desired. The parents and teachers are expected to mobilize children’s character. Gradually, with the knowledge and experience of gear and clutch one can safely drive one’s car. One can even cross hills and dales.
We have lots of stories in vogue from time immemorial, quotes from worth-reading publications, authentic books and scriptures. Different examples are likely to contradict when it would be difficult to remain aware of judgment and consequence. So it was the simple teachings to every youth that came in the gracious association of the Mother: “Go ahead with what little you have in your brain-pan. Cultivate within in the spirit of reason, and renunciation. Realization is the obvious consequence.” Yes, we aren’t worry about any mistake; it might have enriched our experience.”
As we all know, to err is human, we should feel free in the question of our investment to lead a compassionate life and say “live and let live”. Just good quotes can guide us truly in right direction. The main point is the cause of disturbance. Since we are not identical characters, our problems are dissimilar and individually we are to solve them under any circumstance. To attain to that height, we badly need someone whose life and saying would have merged with each other and there is no difference in his mind and words. Did anybody found such a person? Then the rest depends solely on one’s own self.
All of a sudden one day I got up from bed in the morning; I came to realize from within something very strange. “Who has never seen my mother would I be able to make him realize how beautiful God is!” I sat down before my table and thought a little about it. Yes, the way of life she led amid hazards of domesticity--nursing her husband and loving her children, among the devotees and disciples, attending every evening busy hour in the temple and remaining indifferent about my venture on “Survey of culture within the pricings of truth”—all these actions and many more were engraved in my mind during youth to find none to match her.
Leaving apart all these qualities, I should mention a few words about her authenticity in her unique creation--the way how she could express her realization in a state of “Conscious Trance”. She dictated amid family chores, sang songs—often for quite sometime, answered so many questions during discourse and catechism. Strangely, she didn’t feel like correcting a single word—there was nothing to edit from her point of view. She was bold enough in all her expressions. Evidently, it appeared before me something miraculous. So was the exclamation from my point of view: “Embodiment of Miracle”!
Ma-Mahajnan, a matchless spiritual genius, expressed her entire creation in a state of "Conscious Trance” which has all been stuffed with matters of highly philosophical values and related with strong literary sense. She could not attend even Primary School due to extreme poverty. Strangely, she was taught all by herself in the School of Nature. The weird and wonderful life is possibly the souse of her vast experience and profound realization. She was born on 17 July, 1928 and passed away on 22 January, 2011.
Listen to what Ma-Mahajnan said once: “I may as well tell you in advance; I haven’t read about any Yoga, I am, in fact, innocent of any learning. Just believe me; you should know this in advance. In fact, if you speak in English, I won’t understand that. I am a perfect ignoramus.” Listen to what I tell you briefly about the early phase. Listen first about my life. I was married off at the age of thirteen. I was the second wife, my husband married for the second time and thus I came into his family. I didn’t get any chance for schooling.” You’ll perhaps weep to hear how I came as a wife, driven by utter poverty or how they packed me off. After that all at once I slowly progressed in the domain of that ‘Nothingness’.--Please refer to “I’m the Mother; the Nothingness, too.”
Asokananda Prosad, Ma-Mahajnan's first disciple, is an engineer, a philosopher and a philanthropist. Being the missing son—the eldest and the first disciple of Great Ma-Mahajnan, he has had to shoulder so many burdens of Ashram and Temple. Of course, there are few brothers and sisters, very sincere and honest, intelligent and industrious. They help him in every way. He has long been translating Works of Ma-Mahajnan, written in Bengali, into English. The Mother didn’t just put those in black and white, but simply expressed, extempore and spontaneous, in a state of “Conscious Trance” and Asokananda got those tape-recorded.
