There is a "new normal" these days. This "new normal" affects large events. Some people are pushing things off until later, but others are making the most of the quarantine. If your anniversary falls within the stay at home order, you can still have fun. Here are 4 ways to still make your anniversary special during the pandemic.

Send the Kids Away for the Night

You don't want your children around on your big day. As much as you love them, they aren't necessarily ideal when you and your partner want to spend alone time together. If you are confident with them going to a relative or friend for the night without being put at risk, take advantage of the opportunity. If finding a sitter for your kids isn’t an option for you right now, rent a movie and order some pizza to keep them entertained for the night while you and your spouse can spend some quality alone time.

Romantic Dinner

One of the best ways to bond together is over some delicious food. You may not be able to go to restaurants this year, but you can have dinner together. Consider cooking it yourself together. If neither you or your partner are great in the kitchen, you can opt to order out instead. This is a good opportunity to support one of your favorite local restaurants. Order in a meal for delivery or pick up and eat it on your fancy dinnerware. Don't forget the wine. It's a celebration after all.

Movie Night

You don't need to do anything big to have a great time on your special night. Try a simple movie night cuddled up in bed or on the couch together. Pick a movie that you watched together or both of you pick a movie. You should also get snacks and beverages to make it a true experience. This simple yet classic date night idea can still help you build intimacy and give you much needed one-on-one time. Hopefully, you won't make it through the movies before getting a little quality time together.

Up the Romance

It's common for couples to get intimate on their anniversary. Make it extra special by getting yourself spruced up. Go to the salon or barber shop. You should also wear something sexy. Don't forget to have some adult sex toys ready for use when you do finally make it to the bedroom. There are items you can even order online if you aren’t able to get out right now. Look for something you haven't tried yet, but be sure to talk it over with your partner first.

The pandemic has changed things, but it doesn't mean it has ended things. You can choose to push off your anniversary celebration until things open back up. Or you can use these tips to make the most of your anniversary at home and still have a special celebration.
