Have you recently noticed wrinkles that were not there before? Well, that is the effect of aging on your body. As you are getting older, your body experiences a series of changes (grey hair, memory loss and lower psychical capacity). You have to face with reality. You can not stop the aging process. There is no way to completely stop the aging. But, you can slow it down by taking care of your body and mind. The following suggestions will show you how to take care of yourself.

The cardiovascular system

As time passes, the heart muscle doesn’t pump as easily as it once did. Why? Well, the blood vessels lose their elasticity and fatty deposits accumulate on the arteries’ walls. When the arteries are stiffer, the heart has to work harder to pump blood through them. This can lead to high blood pressure and other cardiovascular problems.

What to do: Human heart is a muscle that needs regular exercise. So, you can start participating in activities such as biking, rolling or jogging. The American Heart Association says that even 30 minutes walking or swimming activity can improve the cardiovascular health and strengthen the heart. No matter what kind of activity you’ll perform, keep in mind that you have to do it on a regular basic. Also, you must be careful what you eat. Your meals have to contain plenty of vegetables, fruits and whole grains.

The bones, joins and muscles

The bones are at greatest density between the ages of 25 to 35. As we age, our bones tend to lose in size. So, you might become a little shorter. They lose in density, too. That makes them weaker and more exposed to fractures. Muscles gradually lose flexibility and strength. So, you may have balancing or coordination troubles.

What to do: Include plenty of vitamin D and calcium in your daily meals. Make an effort to build bone density using weight-bearing activity, such as walking. It’s good having exercise at least twice a week. This leads to increasing the bone density and reducing the risk of osteoporosis. Building stronger muscles will protect your joints from injury. Also, it helps you keep up the needed balance and flexibility.

The memory

The mental capacity shrinks with age, and the number of neurons within it. This means that memory becomes less efficient. It takes longer time to learn new thinks or remember names and familiar words.

What to do: If you want to keep the memory sharp, you must stay mentally active. An active brain produces new connections between the nerve cells. This helps for better and faster information storing, no matter what your age is. Solving a crosswords or playing some good hidden object games can affect on increasing the mental ability. You’ll take pleasure during the game and you’ll be working on your memory improving at the same time.

Try to apply these suggestions into your daily routine and start your fight against the aging.
