Prostate cancer aggressiveness has been found to be linked to low levels of vitami
D in a new study. The researchers from Northweste
Medicine revealed that the vitami
D deficiency in men could help predict aggressive prostate cancer identified at time of surgery.

Lead investigator, Dr. Adam Murphy said, “Vitamin D deficiency may predict aggressive prostate cancer as a biomarker. Men with dark skin, low vitami
D intake, or low sun exposure should be tested for vitami
D deficiency when they are diagnosed with an elevated PSA or prostate cancer. Then a deficiency should be corrected with supplements.”
