That's because they creep in from windows, doors and balconies over which you don't have any control. An allergen-free home is a common desire of every homeowner and that's possible by identifying the potential germ hotspots and following necessary steps to minimise their presence.

The Common Allergens Found at Home
Most indoor allergens are found at the high-traffic areas of your house that give rise to recurring health hazards such as itchy nose, sore throats, and respiratory troubles among kids, pets and elderly members. Before proceeding with home cleaning, it's important to identify them at first.
- Pollens:- If you consider pollen to be an outdoor allergen, you are mistaken. Pollens stick to clothes, hair and can be easily brought inside. Moreover, they float through open doors and windows and reside on furniture fabrics.
- Bugs & Insects:- Insects and creepy bugs are common companions of every household and invites a whole lot of trouble. They tend to hide in crevices, behind appliances and furniture and spreads rapidly throughout the house.
- Mould and Mildews:- Mould is a fungus that develops on walls, carpets and spreads rapidly throughout the house if not treated on time. Mould preferably grows on damp and moist surfaces such as showers, bathroom floors and laundry rooms.
- Dust Mites:- Dust mites can be found at every nook and corner of your home and mostly in bedrooms. These microscopic organisms preferably grow on warm and humid climate and love to reside on carpet and upholstery fabrics.

That's because, kitchen floors are a victim of food spills, stains and debris which instigate pesky insects and allergens to breed. Here's how you can control them:-
- Wash your dishes regularly and wipe off moisture from sinks and countertops.
- Clean your refrigerator inside and out and check for mould across rubber seals on doors.
- Use airtight containers to preserve food and avoid leaving them outside for hours.
