Located about 40 miles north of Atlanta, Conroe is one of the fastest-growing cities in Texas. It is part of a dense metropolitan area including Atlanta, The Woodlands, and Sugar Land. Construction, building, and industrial companies have increased their presence in the region to support the continued growth of the population and businesses. It is this rapid development that has prompted John and Alison Abercrombie to enhance the service coverage of their PIRTEK franchises in the area.

John and Alison moved their family from Australia to Atlanta in 2015, to help with the development of the PIRTEK brand in Texas. They opened their first PIRTEK franchise, PIRTEK Gulfgate, in December of that year. This flagship location is a full Service and Supply Center, a Tier 1 business under the company’s franchise model. This requires a franchisee to have a Full Service & Supply Center staffed with six team members and at least two Mobile Service Vehicles. According to John, the couple “had a great experience working with PIRTEK in Australia and they knew that their business model and professionalism would lead to great results in the USA.”

They were right to trust in PIRTEK. After 3 years of success in growing their business, they opened their second franchise in 2018; PIRTEK Beltway North. It was at this point that their son, Thomas Abercrombie, also joined the PIRTEK family and partnered with his parents to open this business. Now, after the sustained growth of the customer base of their first two franchises, the time has come to expand once again. According to John, their PIRTEKs “have become an integral supplier and servicer to many industries in the area such as construction, equipment rental, metal recycling, and manufacturing.”

Their newest addition is named PIRTEK Conroe, and opened January 11th as a Tier 2 franchise centered around on-site mobile service. This option enables entrepreneurs to start a franchise at a lower point of entry and allows a franchisee to keep the inventory in a small warehouse or storage facility and lease two vehicles. According to John, this franchise will be converted to a full brick-and-mortar storefront in the future.

The Abercrombies look forward to continuing to grow the PIRTEK brand in the Atlanta area, along with what they describe as a “great group of employees.” John says they have built “a very stable team with lots of experience, that take pride in their work and do a great job of working safely and professionally.” John has been known to take great care of his employees, and has been quoted saying that he “recognizes that without them he doesn’t have a business.” He attributes much of his success to his team, explaining that “it has largely been a result of a focus on customer service, going above and beyond for our customers, and this has built long-term, mutually beneficial relationships.”
