Are you one of many who claim not to be very intuitive? Do you have children? If you are a parent, can you tell at a moment’s glance, that something is bothering your child, even when they refuse to admit it? What about over the phone when they just don’t sound right? Have you had restless nights without sleep, or troubling dreams, sensing something is wrong? Most parents will answer, “Yes” to these questions even if they deny having extra sensory perception. Parental intuition is a level of heightened sensitivity we may grow accustomed to, and take for granted until something out of the ordinary occurs.
This week I received two psychic premonition dreams from parents asking for help. One was from a reader who found my self help articles on developing and trusting your instincts and intuitions. As a trained therapist and Intuitive Coach one of the services I offer is deciphering dreams. The other was from a colleague. I can think of nothing more stressful, than instinctively knowing your children are in trouble both physically and emotionally, yet being forewarned at least gives one a bit of time to gather their wits and composure. And these psychic moments certainly affirm the extraordinary powers of a parent-child bond. I hope by sharing stories, you will never have reason to doubt your feelings. In both dreams the unconscious mind alerted the dreamer that their children’s health was compromised.
“Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.” ~ Elizabeth Stone
… My daughter Erin has type 1 diabetes. Her mother and I are divorced, and I have remarried. One night, when Erin was at her mother’s home I had a dream that she was calling to me, “Help me Daddy.” Her voice was calm continuously repeating, “Help me Daddy.”… I awoke rather abruptly at 4 am because of this dream. My wife also woke up and asked me what the matter was? “Something is wrong with Erin” I told her. My wife encouraged me to call Erin’s mother. I decided not to because I thought I was just being silly. At 7am the same morning I got a call from the children’s hospital. Erin had gone into a diabetic seizure at about 4am and was rushed to hospital at about 4:30am by ambulance…
… One of my dear friends has a daughter the same age as my son. We hadn’t spoken for a few months and I began to get worried when she didn’t return my calls. We finally spoke a few days ago. I learned that her daughter was scheduled for facial surgery to remove a cyst like tumor in her cheek. Even though the operation was scheduled as an out-patient procedure the delicate nature and possibility of facial nerve damage gripped my friend with fear. “Stephanie, I had a dream this would happen months ago. It was right after the first tiny cyst was successfully removed by the oral surgeon. I dreamed Jennifer had to have surgery again. The cyst returned and was much larger, and the really frightening part was that in the dream she was left with facial paralysis! Do you think my dream is real, she asked?” “The fact that you had this dream right after the first surgery, even though the doctors assured you that they had successfully removed all the diseased tissue, tells me somehow you knew otherwise. Your intuition was preparing you for the inevitable, a second surgery. On the other hand the outcome you imagined, feels like a depiction of your anxiety; your worst nightmare, I said. Neither of us can know for certain. Your concerns are as real as my optimism. I just feel she is going to be fine. Please call me and let me know as soon as you are able to, I said.”… Yesterday I heard back that the surgery went smoothly without a glitch! There were no complications and Jennifer has no nerve damage…
