Internet marketing is mostly based on search engine marketing & which could be paid or organic. However, your marketing strategy should be planned according to your business type, need & brand value. For small businesses organic search marketing & paid marketing both can bring fruitful result in form of business growth. However the same may not be applicable to big companies & brands, because people would less likely to be using keywords to search their service as they already knew about those companies. Therefore paid marketing may not be a good option for big brands.
A research was conducted to reveal the success rate of both organic & paid search marketing in 2011, the research was based on the queries entered by 28 million UK citizens. The research result was further broke down into two parts so as to find out the branded & non branded click through rates. It was revealed that the formula is always simple as it was earlier which is higher you rank, greater the CTR. Even Google is also showing only 7 results (google.com) for branded queries, maybe only because it knows that the visitors are only going to pay attention to the first three queries & they won't even notice that Google is showing only seven results.
However the same is not applicable for non-branded keywords & the users are more likely to go beyond the first three results. The research showed us that low ranking results in this case almost got 39% of the CTR, now this is a good news, isn't it? If your site can't afford to rank in the first three position, then it's not at all a lose-lose condition..after all 39% can bring you plenty of money & opportunities.
Now let us talk about paid search results or Pay per click, which gets only about 6% of all the clicks so question may pops up in your mind that could that 6% be a reason good enough to invest in Pay per click ad campaigns? Let me tell you that Pay per click is good enough for greater number of conversions while at the same time it also provides you a way to get visibility for those keywords that you couldn't have competed for with Search engine optimization campaign only. Let's say your site is ranking well with "web design new york" keyword, now it would be too hard for you to achieve the same result with "web design" keyword.
This is where Pay per click can help you & you can get visibility for highly competitive keywords as well. Of course you need to pay Google for every click you get through Pay per click ads, but think about it... if you get 20 clicks with a CPC of 50 rupees and get a project worth Rs 10,000-15000, then this would definitely be a good choice for being a part of your internet marketing campaign.
But that’s not all, most of the advertisers get confused with PPC & go crazy about choosing effective keywords only… need less to say this effort leads to a success rate of less to none. Advertisers must keep the priority on creating a great landing page too… this will make sure that the conversion rate increases along with the visitor’s flow.
