The expanding size of syllabus for the students in present times calls for better memory methods. These memory methods require to break the old and traditional ways of learning and studying so that students are able to cope up with their wide syllabus successfully. Present times are competitive where results are that matters more than anything else does. This is why studies today are more exams oriented. Today, students are multitasking and need time for many things in their routines. By improving the capacity and quality of memory of students, the portion of their studies can be simplified. The process of improving memory can include various memory enhancement exercises, smart drugs, and changes in studying in studying mannerism and technique. These methods are supported by speed-reading, speedwriting, and effective note taking skills. Other specific memory enhancement techniques are memory mnemonics, acronym memory technique, peg memory technique, and phonetic number recall. The technique of speed-reading is one of the study skills that help the students to cover their syllabus in less time. There are various ways that can help students to learn to read faster. The basic motive is to bring down the need of word-to-word reading to a quick glance of the text in a way that is focused and does not miss on any of the crucial information present in that text. When any information is read with full concentration then half the need of learning it is covered. Improving the reading speed is not a day’s job but requires daily and focused practice for the purpose. Popular speed-reading skills include skimming, scanning, and sub-vocalizing. While speed-reading, it is essential that the focus is brought on action rather than words. Minds are not equally divided to every being and so their capacities too vary from person to person. For the students who are not gifted with bright minds have the option of smart drugs. Smart drugs have always been a matter of debate and are given the name of academic athlete’s steroids. However, they are not illegal, as their use is not banned and they don’t have any ill health effects. However, the students who don’t use these drugs find it unfair on other student’s part to use it. Smart drugs come with the medical name Nootropic and are helpful in enhancing the learning capacity of brain. Such drugs act as forcers to improve the functionality of brains by working on its various aspects. Whether to use them or not is completely the decision of the conce ed student but it is necessary that before any such consumption, advice of a qualified doctor is obtained.
