I am A south African and have decided to live in Croatia, marriage got me to make this decision.

A challenging experience, so many changes in such a short period, you never expect that, but it has happened to me. It is now nine years but still feels like yesterday. A new lifestyle, and foreign language, this is a new beginning, in a developing country.

A small place with a population of just over four million people. The facts of this country is too small for me to bother about, South Africa is just so different to this a life I had no clue of.

Living in region of a small community there are many issues to deal with, local people are still living in their past traits, that is traditionally, and to fit in is difficult with people of different mentalities.

The sense of humour is way out of my league in fact this whole life is not in my league, but I have an English friend. Someone I can trust and count on, my life now is about my writing and living my life to the fullest.

Happiness is very important, no matter where you choose to live you got to be happy. Learning a foreign language is difficult but I have grasped the Croatian language well enough to move around and have brief conversations.

I find it hard to adapt to such a life, when there isn't much to do by making my life without focusing on how the local people live I am doing well.

The point about going to another country without knowing anything about the living standards, and all the statistics,is not a great idea.

You have to do your research before planning your travel.
