Have A Beautiful Wedding On A Low Budget

When most couples start planning their wedding on a budget they do not know how much it will cost for the things they want for their wedding. I did not know how expensive everything was going to be when Trevor and I started making plans for our wedding on a budget. I wanted the best of everything, and was determined to do everything necessary to have what I wanted to make sure that my wedding day was perfect.
Well, everything changed when we entered the phase of wedding planning. When we started to check on the price of things we wanted for our wedding, we were in for quite a surprise. I quickly realized that if we were going to have the type of wedding we wanted, we would need to find more ways to save money on our wedding.

We decided to ask our friends and family to join us in our search for ideas to save money and help us with our plans for our special day.

Once we found that the cost of the hall for the reception was a lot more than we thought it was going to be, we realized that we must find a way for us to keep expenditures within our wedding budget. We also found that the cost of decorating the reception hall would be more expensive than we had previously thought, especially if we were going to have the kind of decorations we wanted for our reception.

We decided to off set the cost of our wedding decorations by making them ourselves. We put out a call for help from friends and family and got them involved in helping us make our decorations.

Working to make our wedding decorations proved more of a
pleasure than a chore. Everyone worked together
on a project that was both fun and important to our wedding plans. It was really a cost-cutting idea and we were very pleased that so many people we knew were willing to help with this project.

These are some ideas that I used when I was planning my wedding on a budget.

1) DON'T GET MARRIED DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS

Getting married during the peak wedding season can be quite an expensive option. Choosing to have your wedding during the off season can have a big impact on your budget. This will reduce the cost of your wedding to a great extent. You will be able to save money on most things you want for your wedding. Limousines, flowers, hall rentals, tuxedo rentals, etc, will be cheaper in the off season as well. This is a good idea if you're planning a wedding on a budget.

2) LOOK FOR SALES AND DISCOUNTS

Shop around before buying candles, wedding cakes, centerpieces, etc and don't limit your purchases to stores that only sells wedding supplies. Their prices are generally higher and you can usually can get most of the things you need at your local stores. Do not forget to ask for discounts when you spend a lot of money in a particular store. Most places are open to the idea and probably will be happy to do so.

4) MAKE THE DECORATIONS YOURSELF

Wedding decorations can be an expensive purchase so it is really a good idea to make your own decorations. There is no need to spend a lot of money on decorations when you can easily make your own. They are fun and easy to make and it is a good way to spend time with friends and family. They are usually very willing to participate in this idea that will help you save money on your wedding.

5) CHOOSE FLOWERS THAT ARE IN SEASON

An easy way to save money on flowers is to choose flowers that are in season. They are more readily available and will be less expensive. Skip the roses and orchids, because they will generally cost you more. Instead select daisies, carnations, baby's breath, chyrsanthemums or gladiolas. These flowers are not that expensive and work just as well. Another good option is to choose silk or dried flowers. They are also much cheaper and just as beautiful.
