How to reach-
By Air: Leh Ladakh does not have airports. The nearest airport to get to Leh is Kushok Bakula Rimpochee. It is well connected with all the major airports of India.
By Road: you can reach Leh Ladakh from either Sri Nagar or Manali via road.
By Railway: Leh and Ladakh have no railway stations. The nearest railway station to Leh is located in Tawi, which is approx 700km away. From Tawi, you can either hire a cab or get on local transportation (bus) to reach Ladakh.

Best Time to Visit Leh Ladakh-
The best time to visit Leh Ladakh is in summers ( from April to June ). In these months the weather remains pleasant with the hint of winter snow all around. In winters due to heavy snowfall, the path to Manali-Leh is closed and the only way to reach is Srinagar-Leh highway, which is also affected by landslides. So it is advisable not to undertake this trip in winter.

Permits for visiting Leh Ladakh-
Inner Line Permit (IPL) is issued by the government which allows visitors to travel in Leh Ladakh for a limited period of time. Obtaining ILP is necessary for every citizen who does not belong to Jammu and Kashmir.
