2010 has been a good year for Land Rover; it has introduced some fresh new models to its existing line-up as well introducing a new model, the Range Rover Evoque. Land Rover has revisited its engine technology in order to produce more fuel efficient and eco-friendly engines, 2010 also marked the year the first 2 wheel drive Land Rover hit the streets.

During the year over 42,000 new Land Rover models were registered in the UK, which compared to 2009’s figure of 33,000 is an increase of 28%. That percentage growth for any car manufacturer in this economic climate is phenomenal, let’s not forget Land Rover is a premium brand which means it is highly affected by the economic climate.

Sales increased across all Land Rover models with the Freelander up 37%, Land Rover Range Rover up 29%, Land Rover Discovery 4 in Edenbridge up 27%,
Land Rover UK managing director, Colin Green said: "Increasingly, customers are looking at the bigger picture and considering the overall cost of car ownership before making a purchase decision. Improved fuel economy, combined with excellent residual values, has helped grow Land Rover sales and increase the brand's share of the UK 4x4 market."

The Land Rover Freelander 2 led the increase in sales, new Freelander registrations were up nearly 40% on 2009.which uses Land Rover's Intelligent Stop Start technology to increase fuel economy and reduce CO2 by up to 20% in urban traffic.
