Kasturba Medical College Mangalore (KMC Mangalore) is recognized by Medical Council of India (MCI) and is a constituent unit of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE). However, some seats are contributed to the State Government for which the counselling will be conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). For MBBS admission in KMC Mangalore, all NEET qualified candidates have to register for MCC counselling process as per the schedule declared by MCC. The allotment of MBBS seats is based on the NEET rank of the candidates.

Teaching Hospital
• Earlier, Kasturba Medical College Mangalore used the clinical facilities of Government Wenlock Hospital and Government Lady Goschen Hospital. KMC Mangalore became an independent unit in 1977.
• The medical college currently has two teaching hospitals KMC Hospital Attavar and KMC Hospital Ambedkar Circle in Mangalore. KMC Hospital Attavar which was established in 1992 has 600 bed multi-specialty hospital, which conducts free health camps and outreach camps as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities.
• The laboratories are accredited by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL).KMC Hospital which is located at Ambedkar circle, is a super specialty and corporate hospital setup with 250 bed inpatients facilities.
