Beauty begins with Intention”

It is part of the human experience to live in order to discover beauty. It lures us to admire gardens, to marvel at architectural wonders, and to create a relationship with things that bring this essence into our lives.
When it comes to discovering our own beauty, however, there is much standing in the way of what is already inherently perfect, what is naturally beautiful because it is our true self. I believe this comes from our societal conditioning through the endless amounts of marketing that subconsciously tells us that if we don't meet the beauty standards preset by media, that we somehow fall short. My feeling is that we all innately know that trying to top the standards for beauty is a game that nobody ever wins. Yet we all, in some way, men and women alike, fall victim to these standards, knowing there is nothing to gain but disappointment and a compromised sense of self.

The only way I can see to overcome this it to know who we truly are and to embrace and genuinely love it. To recognize that our differences and our unique way of thinking and feeling and expressing this, either by action or physical representation of what we are within is what makes us beautiful. Easier said than done. Yet, if we are ever to reach a place of peace within a world of impossible standards, we need to begin with accepting that our biggest gift to the world is not appearing to be beautiful but actually being it. An inside job, so to speak, starting with kindness towards ourselves. This begins with how we speak to ourselves. Think about it. Would we ever say to our children what we say to ourselves when we look in the mirror?
What we believe and re-iterate to our inner self defines our world and defines us.

Your journey, your life , all that you are, and all that you are to become is reflected on the outside by what you tell yourself on the inside. This is where beauty is born. This is where true beauty resides.
