Learning how to sell beats online doesn't have to be an extremely hard task. You can do it easily especially if you set up the right foundations for your website. For instance, Soundclick has a free mailing list form that you can use on your site, though many people forget to do this. Gathering emails is one of the best ways to grow your business and reach more potential clients interested in buying rap beats.

Producers definitely don't take email marketing seriously enough for the most part. Many beatmakers don't even have an opt-in form on their website, which is stupid because Soundclick has a free mailing list form available to even non VIP members.

The trick is to gather the right emails from the right people. Personally I like to add every single new client I get... The fact is, if they've bought from me before then they're definitely going to consider buying from me again. I make it easy on them by getting them to join my mailing list and keeping them updated when I post new beats (always free download).

It's important that everybody understands just how important this form of marketing really is. The truth about beat selling is it's just like any other business. You are not a beatmaker anymore, you are a business person so start thinking like one. Everybody in the online business knows beyond a reasonable doubt that email lists are one of the best ways to make money. You can create buzz for products before you even launch them, guaranteeing you way more sales in the long run.

If you have an email list of 1,000 people (which is quite small, it's very possible to get that many people within just a few months) then you can send them an email every week for 4 straight weeks before you come out with a big product, perhaps 10 or 20 beats for one low price. You don't have to sell Exclusives, but "Upgraded Lease" or "Semi-Exclusives" would do nicely.

The best part is, a lot of those people on my mailing list choose to buy beats from me again and again! It's not uncommon for me to send out an exclusive discount to my mailing list or an exclusive deal. They love being let in on good promotions especially if it's only accessible to list members.

Though most producers online like to say that giving away free beats is the best way to grow your mailing list, I've found much better results slowly gathering the emails of new clients. Sure, I only get a few emails added per day instead of hundreds per week, but the emails are so targeted that I end up making a lot more money in the long run. The people who want freebies usually won't buy, though it might be worth it to add them in there just for the added promotion. It's up to you to decide, really, but you'll see more sales adding clients.

Hopefully, this has helped you because I know it helped me. It's a perfect example of the snowball effect because before you know it, you have a mailing list with 1,000 buyers on it and you're making money every time you send out an email.
