Life is literally deemed insignificant without the glorified knowledge of Qur’an, according to Islamic theology. This is not without a reason, as Qur’an is referred as truest and absolute source of knowledge and enlightenment and this is not how Muslims see to it; this is how Allah Almighty, the Mighty Creator of the Universe states Himself in various places all through the text of Holy Qur’an. These couple of verses seems appropriate to be quoted in this context:

1. Yunus [10:57]. O mankind! There has come to you a good advice from your Lord (i.e. the Qur'an, enjoining all that is good and forbidding all that is evil), and a healing for that (disease of ignorance, doubt, hypocrisy and differences,) Which is in your breasts, - a guidance and a mercy (explaining lawful and unlawful things) for the believers.

2. Al-Isra [17:9] Verily, this Qur'ân guides to that which is most just and right and gives glad tidings to the believers (in the Oneness of Allâh and His Messenger, Muhammad SAW) who work deeds of righteousness, that they shall have a great reward (Paradise).

There are many more verses present in Holy Qur’an that depict such a message to humanity and that is why Quran Learning is deemed as a religious obligation for every true Muslim soul irrespective of their genders and statuses. However, since Qur’an is not just an ordinary book, but a highly respectable Scripture; therefore, it is advised not to read it like other common books. One needs to show great respect towards it, as it comprises of nothing but pure words of Allah Almighty:

Do they not then consider the Qur’an carefully? Had it been from other than Allah they would surely have found therein much contradictions [Qur’an 4:82]

Given below is a list of considerations that are to be adhered before reading/learning Qur’an, such as:

Knowing words of Qur’an through their origin – This is meant to practically express the greatness of every single word of Allah Almighty that is a part of this holiest text; so that Lord of whole universe Allah Almighty blesses the reader with divine guidance as a result of their gratefulness.

Acknowledging that words of Qur’an are not from anyone but Allah – A fact without acknowledging which the significance to learning Quran is reduced greatly; therefore, one needs to remember:

“And truly this (the Qur’ân) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), which the trustworthy Ruh (Jibreel) has brought down upon your heart (O Muhammad) that you may be (one) of the warners, in the plain Arabic language” [Soorah ash-Shura: 192-195]
Devoting the presence of mind, heart, and soul while reading – It is also very important that those who vow to Teach Quran to others; instill in them the fact that the true essence of this practice remains unfulfilled unless one fully devotes his mind, soul, and heart in text of Qur’an.

Conclusion

Significance of learning Qur’an and then teaching it to other fellow human beings can also be witnessed from the following hadith as well:
"The best of you is he who has learnt the Qur’an and then taught it." (Bukhari)
Therefore, if you want to gain maximum out of this great bestowment of Allah Almighty; make sure to adhere to the simple tips mentioned above.
