How to Defend Yourself and Best Protect your Children. Part 16 in The Right Response?

Government Failure? Or Government Oppression?
Citizens all across the world are increasingly recognizing the problem of government failure. Many governments are increasingly incompetent at that most fundamental of tasks: protecting their citizens from harm. From Tunisia in North Africa to Syria in the middle East, from Britain to America, ordinary citizens are gaining increasing clarity about government failure as well as government oppression.

American opinion has fallen to a record low for President Obama's federal government, finds a recent Pew Research Center survey. Just 28% of US citizens view the government in Washington favorably - the lowest percentage ever recorded - down 5 percentage points from the previous year. Even his party members are dissatisfied, with only 41% of Democrats having a favorable opinion, reports Reuters.*

Protecting the Weak needs the Right Tools for the Job
Mature citizens realize you may need to defend yourself and those around you. The tools to do so - firearms - level the odds between the weak and the strong, but can only do this crucial task if they are available. So access to firearms, the best tool for the job of protecting the weak, is essential.

But rather than empowering responsible citizens to protect themselves, many politicians seem more aware of a very different problem. The one facing those wishing to oppress their citizens: the guns owned by innocent citizens. The unelected lordlings at the United Nations obviously appreciate the logic underlying Socialist Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler's gun grab.

Is this the real reason for the United Nation's Arms Trade Treaty which mandates governments to control the use of defensive firearms all over the world? Article 2 defines and restricts civilians from the right to own, buy, sell, trade, or transfer all "means of armed resistance," including handguns and applies to all countries signing the treaty. What do protection experts say? Long-time Federal Protection Lead Agent, involved in protecting 3 US presidents, US Senate candidate Dan Bongino explains: "There's no such thing as gun control, only people control."*

Gun Bans across the world
Almost complete gun control in Britain has been implemented, yet demonstrates resounding failure. Mass slaughters still occur, and innocent police are now being shot more frequently.

Of course, if your definition of success is instead how well the law stops citizens protecting themselves, it's a resounding success. But that means it's a complete failure at reducing harm to the law-abiding public. The European Union now reports:*

"The United Kingdom is the violent crime capital of Europe and has one of the highest rates of violence in the world, worse even than America, according to the European Commission"

In Australia, the findings of failure are similar. Australians are less safe after their government's drastic tightening of gun laws. Furthermore, over the same period in the USA, deaths attributed to firearms dropped by nearly ten times the decline seen in Australia. Countries like Norway as well as the UK have recently increased restrictions on gun ownership. It's no surprise that in those countries, as in the USA, increasingly restrictive gun laws have escalated the numbers dying in mass slaughters.

Dictators like Gun Control
Lack of clarity about the results of disarming the population enables dictators to flourish. Just ask the experts. Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, Pol Pot, etc. all disarmed their people. As Chinese Communist Leader Mao Zedong said:

“All political power comes from the barrel of a gun. The Communist Party must command all the guns, that way no guns can ever be used to command the Communist Party."

Adolf Hitler, the head of the infamous Nazi (National Socialist) Germany government implemented the obvious solution: Disarming citizens stops them disagreeing with his policies. To terrorize a population, gun control does certainly work!

How many Germans, Poles, and other Europeans did Nazi dictator Hitler murder once he'd confiscated their firearms. Nazi-controlled police helped create an oppressive government with virtually unlimited powers. Hitler initiated World War 2, which raged for six years, and his misleading words about gun bans resulted in the slaughter of millions.

Hitler wisely Decided NOT to Invade Switzerland
Yet the death toll could have been even higher. Historians say that the automatic guns above every fireplace deterred Hitler from invading heavily armed Switzerland. The Swiss well understand the value of firearms in protecting their country as well as themselves.

Swiss voters have the enviable constitutional right to veto any laws passed by their politicians without popular consent. As a result, unlike the USA, politicians spend considerably efforts to ensure their policies are both desirable as well as sound. Swiss voters declined to self sabotage by rejecting the recent gun control attempt in 2011.

Switzerland's Enviable Constitution
The Federation of Switzerland enjoys an upgraded version of America's constitution. One of their many improvements ensures that neither their government nor their politicians can override the constitution by taking arbitrary steps. Switzerland's prosperity is envied all across the world, the USA included.

Switzerland has no presidential personality cult, the Swiss president is elected from the seven-member Swiss Federal Council. Swiss citizens understand that the skill of appealing to voters is unrelated to the very different skills needed to run a country.

The Swiss constitution ensures that the well-armed Swiss enjoy the safest country on the planet. Far from banning guns, each home has a fully automatic military assault weapon above every fireplace! Their Federal constitution provides a proven model that both the US and European Union would do well to copy. The Swiss gun homicide rate? Many times lower than America's, it's actually the lowest in Europe.

What does work to Stop Mass Shootings
Despite the deceptive words of many politicians, it's clear all over the world. Guns level the field between the weak and the strong. You need the right tools to do the job of protecting yourself and your children. As the brilliant t-shirt slogan says: Firearms - the ultimate in feminine protection!

The firearms carried by Israeli teachers protect their kids. In the few places allowed, the guns carried by American teachers also protect their kids.

Over the years in which the draconian Washington D.C. handgun ban and trigger lock laws were in effect, the D.C. murder rate averaged 73% higher than at the outset of the law, while the overall US murder rate was 11% lower over exactly the same time-frame.*

Would US citizens benefit by following the lead of corrupt politicians and adopting gun bans like Washington DC, UK, Australia, and Norway? Or would less gun laws ensure there are more responsible citizens with firearms to stop both criminal mayhem and mass shooters? To paraphrase Federal Protection Lead Agent Dan Bongino, in today's society of wolves you do not fight back by creating more sheep.
