How A Sales Funnel Works
Some of you have heard this term, but maybe do not truly understand what it means, or why you even have to do it. Well I know how you feel, because for years I avoided doing this myself, and believe me I paid for it. Think of a sales funnel as a giant tornado. At the top are the vast amount of people looking to buy products online, and as we know there are millions. What we need to do is to start running them through our funnel till at the very end we have a customer who will buy products from us over and over. Now how you find those first people is by offering a free product in the area that they are looking to learn something about. We specialize in teaching Internet marketing, so we give products like eBooks and software away for free, in exchange for that persons email address.
With that, they are now in the funnel itself. Then a day or two later then get another email giving them another free product, in the same area or niche. Now at this point you will start to lose people, don’t worry that’s normal. Generally around 10% - 20% will continue to open and read your emails. Of course there are people who have much higher opening rates, and lower opening rates, there is no set rule. If they stay and continue to read your material and take your free gifts and advice then these general leads become good prospects. At this point they are ripe for selling a product to them. It is time to turn them into buying customers. Again send them another final email and tell them about the most amazing fantastic product that you are using yourself.
At this point they will trust you enough to believe what you say. Now if you are pitching an affiliate product try, learn as much about as you can so you sound like an informed person. If you are pitching a product that you actually own, show all of your data about why this product and it would be good for them. Remember consistency is the key, if they signed up to learn about keyword research, then at the end of the day you pitch them a keyword research product. Do not show them something that will help them with article marketing, or some other various product. Give the customer what it is they want and you will have high conversion rates every time!
