Hypertension is a very common disease which is being found in every person in some stage of his or her life. Various types of medicines are available in market to control blood pressure. But better if we are able to get a home remedy for hypertension. The following home remedies are available to control it.

Garlic: A clove of raw garlic can be taken 2-3 times a day to control blood pressure. Garlic has the property to reduce the spasms of the small arteries. It helps in slowing down the pulse rate and control the blood pressure and modify the rhythm of heart.

Gooseberry: Every morning have a gooseberry juice mixed with honey to slow down the blood pressure.

Lemon: The capillary fragility can be prevented by using lemon. Lemon juice is very good. You can also use peel of the lemon. Lemon contains Vitamin P which is very useful for high blood pressure patients.

Grapefruit: Grapefruit too contain Vitamin P which helps in the toning of the arteries thus controlling the high blood pressure.

Watermelon: The substance found in watermelon seeds help in dilating the blood vessels which lowers the high blood pressure. You can dry and roast the seeds and can have them in small quantities daily. Watermelon is also good.

Rice: Brown rice contains calcium which helps in the relaxing of the nervous system thus lowering the high blood pressure. Drained Water rice are low in fat and have low-salt and cholesterol in it. You can use brown rice instead to wheat.

Potato: Potatoes contains potassium and not sodium salt so potato diet is recommended for patients that have to eat salt free diet. Boiled potatoes absorb very less salt so include potatoes in your daily diet.

Parsley: Parsley can be taken in the form of a beverage. Boil 20 gm of fresh parsley leaves in 250 ml of water for few minutes. Drink this beverage several times a day to control your blood pressure. Parsley keeps the arterial system in a good condition and maintain the blood capillaries too.

Rauwolfia: Rauwolfia in raw form is very good remedy to control high blood pressure. It contains alkaloids which if used in processed form will give some side effects so it is better to use the root of the drug by making a powder.

Vegetable Juice: Carrot and spinach juices can be mixed together and one glass taken daily will control hypertension.

Fish oils: Fish oils contain eicosapentaenoic acid and docohexaenoic acid (DHA).Both these acids help in reducing the blood pressure naturally.

Daikon Seed: These daikin seeds extract are used in several medicines. These seeds can be used in your home also. You can take daikon seeds with honey.

Holly Leaf: Holly leaf helps in proper blood circulation of the body by expanding the blood vessels. It also reduces the cholesterol level in the body.

Flaxseed: Flaxseeds are a rich source of fiber which helps in lowering of the LDL cholesterol and also preserves the HDL cholesterol. You can take flaxseeds in any form like in soups, cereals, wheat flour etc.

Dietary Calcium and Potassium: Calcium and potassium rich diet helps in controlling the high blood pressure as potassium and calcium helps the body to secrete excess sodium and helps in proper functioning of the vascular system. Person who take potassium rich diet faces less hypertension problems.
