History of Andaman and Nicobar Islands

The history in Andaman and Nicobar Islands says that the British East India Company established a penal colony where criminals convicted for crime against the Company were kept. Prior to the establishment of British Empire in India, the Andaman and Nicobar islands were little known to the people of India because of the lack of any authentic historical account.
