This lichen has been used successfully for over 3,000 years in Egypt, China, and Greece. It grows on pine trees in damp areas and it’s also known as Usnea Barbata a powerful healing agent.

Other Names - Also known as Usnea Barbara - and also common names - Beard lichen, woman’s long hair, old man’s beard, Mousse D Arbre, Beard Moss, oakmoss, Usnea Barbata, Songluo (in Chinese), Usnea Hirta, Usnea Florida, Usnea Lichen, tree’s dandruff, and tree moss and many more common names.

Not the Same as Oak Tree Moss - Similar looking, but it’s not the same as Oak Tree Moss… Usnea grows on pine trees.

Where it Grows - This moss is common on trees all over North America, Asia, and Europe. And likes growing on dead trunks of pine trees and live trees. And it likes coastal rainforest areas. It looks like a fuzzy old man’s beard and it’s also called “Old Man’s Beard”. Usnea is usually light green but can be many colors from green to black.

Contains - Usnea contains Usnic acid which kills gram positive-bacteria. This acid stops oxidative phosphorylation in bacteria and other causative agents.

Great Antibacterial - This lichen only kills the gram positive bacteria and does not harm most of the probiotics in the body. Making this natural antibiotic great for nurturing our good microbial digestive bacteria. Also kills Staphylococcus simulans and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria which are very difficult to get rid of.

Then let cool completely and add 2.5 oz of vodka and place it in an 8 oz jar and place on the shelf and shake daily for 30 days. Then remove the Usnea and place in dropper bottles.

How to Make a Cream - Take 1 part of the tincture and add it to 5 parts of any over the counter natural face cream… very simple.
