"Everyone wants to feel like a "winner." And feeling like a winner requires that you win. You get the feeling of the winner by completing a task 100%. When you do this repeatedly, eventually you develop the habit of completing the tasks that you begin. When this habit of task completion locks in, your life will begin to improve in ways that you cannot today imagine."-From the book Goals, by Brian Tracy
What good habits should you adopt towards self-Improvement? Below are some of the good habits you should practice:
.) Confidence and Courageous: Successful people are courageous, confident and positive minded. Deal with your fears by doing the things you perceive impossible or the ones that people say that you're unable to accomplish. Say in your mind, "Yes, I can do it and it's not impossible."
.) Seeking God's Help: We all know that God is powerful beyond our imagination and it is God who created us all. He is the provider of everything. We should commit our plans to God. The Bible clearly says and I quote, "Matthew 7:7 'Ask, and it will be given to you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 Is there anyone among you who, if your child asks for bread, will give a stone? 10 Or if the child asks for a fish, will give a snake? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!" If you scrutinize the Holy Bible, you'll realize that people who obeyed God and asked God to help them lived an abundant life.
.) Motivation: Have the habit of referring to things that make you happy. This will help you to do away with all the negative emotions such as stress, tiredness, fatigue and boredom. Perceive yourself as being strong and competent of achieving your goals. You can get motivation from your family members, friends, work colleagues and mentors. These people will boost your self-esteem and motivation by encouraging you and giving you the support you need.
.) Self Reliant: Those credit cards, loans and borrowing from friends without the consideration of how you're going to pay back are the obstacles towards realizing your goals. You should wrap your mind with the idea of staying away from loans whose payments do not match with your income. Instead, start saving money to attain self-reliance. Pay yourself first, eventually you'll be surprised that you're living within your means.
.) The Art of Giving: "The hand that giveth is blessed." The more you give the more you get blessings. It does not only apply to giving money but there are many things that are not money attached you can give to the society.
.) Being Optimistic: An optimistic mind sees the possibility of success without any doubts. Whenever obstacles come your way, learn to brush them aside and let them strengthen you. Don't let challenges weaken you but let them strengthen you. Be strong by dusting yourself up and getting on the right track. You should be a resilient person.
.) Work hard in a Smart Way: No effort of hard-working will just disappear without any reward. Get it from today that there are no shortcuts in realizing your goals apart from working hard and in an efficient way (smart). Wealth that is acquired easily is lost easily but the one that is acquired through hard work will always remain to be there.
.) Consistency and Discipline: "Practice makes perfect." By the way, do you know how much practice was put in by the person who sang that song you love so much? You should practice always in order to sharpen your skills and to maintain excellence of your work. Discipline your mind to adhere to human virtues. Discipline will help you to accomplish your work and achieve your goals.
.) Forecast, Plan and be Focused: Forecast the changes that are going to happen so that you plan for them in advance. Have the habit of learning new things so that you adapt to changes. This way, you'll remain competent in your career. No road will get you there if you don't know where you're going. Plans are maps towards achieving your goals. If you have formulated a plan, you should stick to it. Remain to be focused till you achieve your goals.
.) Patience: Anything that is good is not easily achieved. Time and a lot of effort are the inputs that make up success. You have to wait for days, months or even years before you realize your goals. Therefore, be a patient person.
