The most comfortable position in our life is the mother’s womb where we play & enjoy the most and everything needed is taken care automatically. But alas, we have to leave this place one day, and then we start creating web/layers of our personality by problem-solving process through our mind to recreate that wonderful experience of comfort & enjoyment again.

But the journey outside the den is not easy. We often face uncomfortable situations where do not find a workable solution to the problems. This is the time when the body/mind is dis-eased. To come out from the grip of this diseased state, we look around to takes help from someone else. Due to this need a breed of people (the doctors/health workers) came into existence a noble class.

As the demand for their services grew, this class evolved by hard work, R&D and recognized in society. But since the class itself needed protection for survival, these professionals started charging for their services.

Over last few decades, this service has turned into industry named ‘health & wellness’ having a turnover of more than 4 trillion US dollars. There are giant companies in this industry having budgets more than many national Governments. The industry defines standards for normal health & lifestyle.

As there are self-proclaimed saints in almost every religion /community who are supposed to guide the common person to reach the path of heaven/God, so are the companies in this industry who promises to keep you in the state of normal health on charges decided by them. But they will also not let the problem or ‘diseased state’ die because their survival depends upon this. Most of them have a broker’s attitude who pray for more & more transaction and thus able to earn more & more commission.

The poor ordinary citizen is caught in a web by this situation. The cycle starts with the prescribed tests & factory produced chemical to be injected into the body as a solution. Removing problematic body part by surgery is often suggested as a better solution. For an emergency situation, this is excellent system. When there is an accident & someone is unconscious, it is a lifesaving effort. Their role is supposed to be suggestive or provide guidance but most of the time they push the guidance seeker to a (created?) situation that she has no other option but to part the money for a costly treatment or surgery which is projected as a better solution.

On the face of it, ordinary citizen is declared as the hub of activity as all services are focused on his/her wellbeing. But if you analyze the setup, (s)he is the victim in the hands of the hawks & hounds of the industry. In reality, the power of decision has shifted from individual to industry & its agents. It is the industry which decides the norms & standards of a healthy body. In this cacophony of conducting the business, the signals given by our own body are often lost and ignored.

We are caught in own web. Greedy Professionals have turned a Nobel service into industry. In this networked global village, it is the algorithm driven & system controlled collective decision which prevails over everything else. ‘Free choice’ & ‘individual decisions’ are the academic words now in this modern model of business running on advertisement only.

There are traditional wisdom & techniques like Yoga, Ayurveda, Yunani/Tibetan treatment etc., which takes a wholistic approach and focuses on eliminating cause of problem rather than problem system/organ and suggests lifestyle changes to prevent recurrence. But these have also started following the suit and have entered into the glamorous business world.

The users are to be blamed who have contributed equally to reach to this stage. They want everything on a click of button or command. Emergency is the order of day now.

The gin who appeared as a slave has become the giant master now.
‘God’, Save the human!
