FROM DREAMS TO MAGIC

The dreams have been a great importance in the discovery and development
of founding myths of the pre-monotheistic religions.

FROM THE SIMPLE TO THE COMPLEX
In some biblical texts 2,500 years old and in modern psychology
we can find materials that will lead us to verify the fundamental role
had dreams in the birth of the various myths and legends.
At a time when the man lived in nature, the first religious beliefs
are myths of nature itself. The first gods were supernatural forces
of forests, rivers, lakes, the Sun, Earth ...
In totemic religions, an animal becomes the common ancestor of

Finally, the philosophical religions order globally the life of the individual with a set of
beliefs, an explanation of the Cosmos and guidelines for living day to day. These religions
already include a philosophy of life and therefore become essential. Here are already
the sacred books.

THE PHYLOGENY
When we say that the Ontogeny reproduces the Phylogeny we mean that the development of a single human being
(Ontogeny), reproduces the evolution of the species (Phylogeny).
The human being from conception goes through the stages of the reproduction of cells by partition,
corresponding to the first stages of life on Earth.
Subsequently, the fetus goes through the following phases including especially the phase of our
reptilian and mammalian ancestors. That is, the fetus is bacteria, amoeba, protozoa, fish,
reptile and mammal, before man ...

MAGIC STAGE
The little boy is going through a phase of development of thought called magical-symbolic
and this magical thinking is present in the evolution of all primitive peoples.
The childhood of our children and their way of thinking plays the childhood of Humanity
and their way of thinking.
So, watching our children, we can induce the magical thinking of childhood of Humanity.
On the other hand, today there are people that still live in stages completed by the civilization
many years ago, people who are still in that infancy of Humanity and in who there is still the magical thinking.

MAGICAL THINKING
For the timid in his magic stage and for the primitive man of magical thinking the whole universe
can move and act like magic: the brooms can fly, the animals talk, a magic phrase has supernatural power,
the crooks are transformed into snakes, the gods are anthropomorphic beings, the spirits of the dead
roam the mountains, the storms are an expression of the wrath of a genius ...

DREAMS
The dream world of children is different from the adult. The childhood dreams do not use symbols but
the child dreams the desired directly. In childhood dreams there is no censorship.
Children, before finding out that dreams are different from reality,
in a stage of earlier development, do not distinguish the difference and believe that dreams are of the same nature
as reality: no two distinct natures; the discovery of the dream experience it will be for the child
a step forward in his development towards maturity. So any day in the morning the magical child confess:
--- "Tonight I've been playing with grandpa on the lake."
He will not say that he has dreamed but he will say that he it has really.
So at some point in the development of our species, dreaming is living really special events.
These episodes, dream, but real to them, affect fantastic realities that become part
of its surrounding reality but not visible. Invisible realities are perceived with the same certainty
the real world visible. So the first religious beliefs are emerging with the perception
of the existence of two worlds: the visible and invisible. The evolution of the invisible world, fantastic,
will give life to real people to them that, increasingly, are populating the world,
interfering with human activity. The great powers of the gods, made it necessary

DREAMS IN THE BIBLE
In the Bible we read in many places like this: "J. appeared in dreams to N. and said .... "

COROLLARY
Thus from the dream the man comes into contact with a reality different that it exists really.
The belief in spirits covered important human needs and soon became indispensable in the life
of man on Earth. So all peoples in all parts of the World
had their own supernatural beliefs.
