Who else wants to discover how to shop for food items? We are lead blind folded around in stores! Reading food labels, the print is so small you need more than just reading glasses. Only one look at the fine print and most people give up. Labels are also not transparent enough to get the full message and information we should have.

No information at all!

Some of the imported goods have no or misleading information. Imported garlic is one example: Garlic is fumigated with methyl bromide to kill bugs, bleached with chlorine to make it look white, it is treated with growth retardant to stop sprouting and cold stored for up to a year. There are no labels on that product regarding any treatment procedures or ingredients. Consumers are not informed about it. Knowing all this: Would you want to buy this garlic?

From every perspective there has been this failure by most Western governments to bring in and uphold a strict labeling law on food packaging. Some government food administration departments are just sitting back, twisting their thumbs while food manufacturers are putting on labels what suits them best. Regarding to this instance most national or international mandatory labeling laws simply don't work.

Not being told what we should know!

It surprises many of the public to learn that we are actually alone in declaring it a criminal offence of manufacturers and retailers not to label food packaging correctly and honestly. The laws about labeling have to become more stringent and reinforced by strict guidelines to make it possible for us to know what we are getting when purchasing food.

The deterrent effect of mandatory labeling, exposed by failure of government's legislation and yet, it has become one of our health problems and a strong increase in illness across the western world.

Correct labeling!

Experts agree that correct food labeling would have a positive health benefit and reduction of cost for government health systems. There are many arguments in favor of labeling laws that need improvement and strong support by more lobbying groups.

Sadly, there is considerable lack of evidence for governments to enforce the law for safety and health benefits for the consumer.

Knowing what we buy!

Exploring the health benefits of food is the first step in correcting the diet for better health; this is hardly possible under the present labeling laws. The health effects about ingredients in the food we buy must concern anyone, not knowing what actually we are buying.

All of this is not only confined to food products. There are hundreds of household items as well from personal care, toiletries and toothpaste to beverages. The so-called everyday household goods can provoke allergies, irritation, skin rash and other health hazards.

As food labeling is unreliable and misleading, alternative information is important to avoid the harmful culprits affecting our health. I have searched widely for the best natural supplements and products free of chemicals and save to use without side effects.

There is further ongoing information and to have the necessary shopping guide that reveals the numbers game on the labels of products to make it safe and to identify the bad from the good.

Over the years I’ve researched and learned where the dangers are coming from that affect our health. I got to know of the chemicals and toxins that we are in contact with every day and how to avoid them.

The danger is not only in the food we buy and eat, there are as well the personal care products most of us use on daily bases without realizing the hidden dangers in them.

After gaining a certain amount of knowledge my vision and passion has grown to the extent that I would like to pass on my knowledge, showing others how to live a better and healthier life by avoiding at least most of the culprits in food and products that labels don’t tell us about.
