Many people have this annoying habit of starting many different projects simultaneously or on different times and leave them unfinished before taking on another responsibility. They are either too callous to complete what they started or are confident that someone else will do it for them. Either way it causes problems in their professional and personal lives. Companies may lose deadlines or relationships go through rough patches if not severed completely.

If your habit of leaving too many loose ends is causing a major havoc, it is time for a change. This is how to achieve this.

Determine the Reasons

If you are leaving a project unfinished it is time to ask yourself what is compelling you to behave in such a way. You either lose interest or are simply too much self-centered to care. Once you are able to determine the reasons behind such an attitude it is possible to find ways to rectify your behavior and start finishing what you started for a change.

Do Not Waste Time

While delving into the reasons for too many unfinished projects is quite fine, wasting time in the process is a bad investment. If you feel that you cannot think of a definite reason for a specific scenario, then it is always a better idea to move forward and start with something new. However, choose the next project carefully and based on your personal interests, so that finishing it does not become an issue.

Making A List

Making a list always brings everything into perspective and you have evidence before your eyes of the abandoned projects and endeavors. This way, doing a comparative study and determining the reasons for your escape midway becomes easy. From this list, you can select endeavors, which you are ready to complete now before you take on something new and completely different.

Concentrate On Single Projects

Instead of taking on too much too soon, place different projects in a sequential manner in the order you want to finish them. Giving individual concentration to each unfinished work increases the chance of its completion successfully so that you can move onto the next one in your list.

Avoid Complications

Whatever you do, it is necessary to avoid complications and being overwhelmed by the task. Instead of increasing your stress levels and continuing with the abandoning habit start with the simplest, from the list of pending tasks and gradually progress on to others based on their complication levels. By keeping things simple and manageable, it is possible to grow in confidence gradually and get on with project completions, one at a time.

Consider Your Interests

What you love to do now, may no longer seem feasible are interesting after a certain time or once you reach a certain age. Therefore, consider every project from your present condition. Consider your interests when selecting work to complete and this way, you increase the chance of continuing with them until the end. As you start with your unfinished project and they start being completed, you will grow in confidence, and overtime this bad habit of leaving things mid-stride will change.
