There are many people in this world who are perfectly suited to their career or job. They are successful and genuinely enjoy their position so they do it with passion. On the flip side of this coin, there are those who are great at what they do but hate it with a passion. Is there a difference? Where do you find yourself today?
Your answer may depend on your prime motivation, if what you need is a way to make money and provide for your family then it may not matter about passion. However, if you want something that you truly love, a position you can feel passionate about then this matters a great deal.
Some people, luckily, it seems, fall into the one job or career that they love. Many times these are people who grew up learning the family business and never had any desire to do anything else. This however is not how it works for most people. Generally, people feel the need to get out of the nest and walk on their own two feet. Jumping over the fence where the grass is always greener.
First things first, you should know it is never too late to pursue a career you are passionate about, of course you must first figure out what that is. A whole new world of possibilities will open up to you when you fully understand your passions.
Stop and take a good look at your life, where you have been and where you are now. Are you a plumber who dreams of traveling? See how much you have learned already.

You are probably not going to meet a lot of people as a plumber. It could be you enjoy making the travel plans, flights or cruises. Have you ever considered the travel business? The key to finding a career you love is looking at what you are passionate about from different perspectives.

Do not confuse admiration and passion, they are vastly different animals. For example, you may admire the gentleman who makes beautiful birdhouses but cannot imagine being cooped up all day in the wood shop. Another thing you have to be prepared for is the fact that what you enjoy may not earn you much if anything.
People who are doing what they love are sure to have put in some hours getting where they are today. Remember though if this is something you are truly passionate about getting to the top will be pure joy.
