Electronic media finds several ways to be connected to its user and provide luxury to their comfort zone. For instance, Direct to home TV or DTH is popular now days and is replacing the general cable TV. This gives the customers freedom with their choice of program and they can even record them according to their need and watch them later as per their convenience. It gives good quality picture and sound as well. DTH is defined as the function of satellite programs with personal dish in an individual’s home. DTH put the broadcaster directly in touch with customer. The satellite program is only received by cable operator who distributes it further to the individual homes. Direct board satellite is a term used to refer to satellite television broadcasts intended for home reception. A label broader tha DBS would be direct to home signals, or DTH. This has distinguished the transmissions directly intended for home viewers from cable television distribution services that sometimes carried on the same satellite. The term DTH predated DBS and it is frequently used in position to services passed by lower power satellites, which required larger dishes for reception. Nowadays, television can be dispersed in so many ways. i.e. from the old analogue television radio, broadcasts through the new digital methods of radio delivery to IP based delivery over wired networks such as the internet. Digital TV Broadcasting are formatting and encoding standard for the reception and transmission of analog television signals. Now, there are three main analog i.e. SECAM, NTSC or PAL television systems that are use across the globe. All these three system have numerous components that includes a system for encoding color, possibly a system for encoding multi- channel audio and a set of technical parameters for the broadcast signal. In the digital television of all these elements are combined in a single digital transmission system. The broadcast of video and audio by digital signals in contact to the analog signals used by analog TV is called Broadcast Digital TV . There are several countries are replacing over the air broadcast analog television with digital television to allow other uses of the radio spectrum formerly used for analog TV broadcast. It has been more tha 50 years now that broadcast television is a part of our lives. In United States, television has completed transition from analog to digital broadcasting. The consumers through analog antennas receive local television signals and they use converter boxes to obtain programming on TVs. In the last few years, deadline was pushed back many times as both broadcaster and consumer could able to meet the FCC’S criteria for successful transition to digital broadcasting.
