As someone who has done a lot of personal EFT work over the years, I know far too well the pitfalls that can be encountered by doing it all on your own. Anyone who knows the benefits of doing EFT, also knows the benefits of making it a daily practice in your life. That being said, now that I’ve had training as a certified EFT practitioner it’s a case of, I wish I knew then what I know now. I would have saved myself a lot of time and tears if I had worked with a practitioner, or had some type of training. I thought I was doing a good thing by tapping away issues using scripts and videos on the internet, only to realize later some of those same issues had returned.

Tapping On Your Own

Tapping by yourself is a great way to deal with surface emotions and to help make any emotional situation more manageable. It will get you great results in the moment, but if the root issues aren’t dealt with, which were often created in childhood, the problem or issue may return.
Some people use scripts found on the internet, or videos which will produce results, but for EFT to really do the permanent work, it needs to be specifically tailored to you.

Words of Caution: Some people start tapping and can experience intense/ uncomfortable emotions. Don’t let this turn you off of EFT. It means it is working, but you should start off working with a practitioner until you become more comfortable with the process.

Working with a Practitioner

This is by far one of the fastest and easiest ways to get permanent healing at the root cause of the issues. Traditional therapies can be expensive and may require months or even years to see results. Working with an EFT practitioner is a very small fraction of the time and cost, for a lifetime of real benefits.

• Practitioners have expert knowledge and strategies to keep you safe and distant from painful or emotional issues.
• Practitioners have strategies to get you through difficult blocks to healing.
• Practitioners often help you find the root of the issue before you would on your own since your subconscious often blocks you.
• Practitioners provide you with support in your healing journey
• Practitioners help you focus on the feelings and find the right phrasing
• Learn how to do EFT for yourself more effectively

Some people prefer to work on their own most of the time, and only work with their practitioner when they get stuck. Others find that working with a practitioner is a valuable investment into their life and well-being. In the end, whether to work by yourself or with a practitioner is a personal choice, but definitely keep tapping!
