If we all understood the direct relationship of our diet and depression, quite possibly the pharmaceuticals could be out of the anti-depressant business. Not too recently I came across some info that revealed how drug companies are putting natural ingredients into their drugs and labeling them as pharmaceutical. Drug companies are researching Chinese herbs in order to discover and pirate molecules from nature that they can modify, patent and manufacture as prescription drugs.

When you stop to think about this, you recognize a cyclical movement. The medical industry got away from natural medicines from plants and turned to man-made drugs. Now, they are going back to nature? Well of course, because they work! Hippocrates once said, "Let your food be your medicine, and let your medicine be your food." The problem is the drug companies are selling their ‘natural based drugs’ as man-made drugs which is a bit deceitful, don’t you think?

Your diet and depression go hand in hand for a reason. Your body is natural and food is natural. Nothing beats the health of natural food – not chemically processed food. Here’s a challenge for you, add to your diet more natural home grown foods from your own garden or local farmer’s market and see what happens to your depression.
