Imagine that you are a person with perfect will-power. With the help of it you have full control over all your actions. If you decided to do something, this will be done for sure, and it doesn't matter how much time and efforts it will take. With the help of will you can fight your fears and control your wishes. You can give up smoking, drinking, you can lose weight, start training – this all is a piece of cake for you.

Strength of will gives you great possibilities. Your mind decides what you need, what is better for you, what will be useful for you in future, - and you confidently go to the goal and realize all your plans. One of the main and the most common reasons of our failure is lack of will. By the way, we mean exactly “lack”, not “absence”. Such element of human psychics as will is characteristic for all people and cannot be absent. However, some people have more developed will, than others. So, if it is present in everybody, if we can define its strength, then we can use some methods to increase it.

The Understanding of Important Tasks

Well, to develop will you will need will (sorry for play of words). We need some reserve of strength to start and continue self-improvement. It can be fulfilled with a help of following exercise which is based on understanding of the importance of your goal. The better you understand your goal, the weaker will be your inner resistance during your way to the goal.

This is a psychic exercises, it will be happening in your mind, so the place is not so important. However, you will feel better effect if you calm down and focus on your thoughts.

A person is thinking of something permanently, thoughts and images are emerging in our head. In most cases these thoughts are useless, sometimes even harmful.

The whole exercise will take you around 10 minutes. During first 5 minutes think why you should improve your will-power, why you need will-power at all. Imagine what you can reach with great will, think of possibilities and advantages that you will receive, imagine how many dreams and plans can be realized. Try to imagine everything in great details, think even about your feelings that you will feel when you reach your goal. In other words, draw the full picture in your head. Don't be afraid to take more than 5 minutes. In the beginning, you will feel slight resistance, unwillingness, but it will pass soon and proper thoughts will emerge by themselves.

Then, next 5 minutes you should imagine all those bad things and failures that lack of will causes. Remember your past experience, some cases that happened with you and may happen again in future, try to feel those emotions that will accompany your failures. At the end of exercise, make your own conclusion, say to yourself: “Yes, developing will-power is very important for me. I will be doing that.”

How It Works

With the help of this exercise you will increase the importance of your goal, in our case this is will-power development. In addition, this exercise increases the importance of any goal and reduces the resistance during its reaching. For instance, if your goal is to train regularly, you will also think of all advantages of sports, imagine the changes in your body, etc. Then, according to the plan, you will analyze the opposite side, imagine and feel failures, etc. At the end you will be able to consciously and confidently decide: “Yes, sports is what I need. I will train and I will receive great advantages from that.”

How many times should you repeat the exercises? The more the better. If you repeat the exercise frequently, it will be better consolidated. Well, you can try this exercise right after you finish reading this article, and then apply it when you have a possibility. And believe us, you won't wait too long for a result!
