Dear Dr. Romance:
I feel like I am going crazy I don't want to hear my kids cry anymore, I don't have enough money for anything, I don''t have anyone that I can trust to watch my kids, because they are going through some seperation anxiety because I am the one that takes care of them day in and day out. I got a little part time job 4 hours a week, but it just still does not seem like enough, I am anxious, tired ,feel like crying all the time I don't know what to do please help.
Dear Reader:
You need to take care of yourself right away. If you can find someone to watch your kids, don't worry about the kids' separation anxiety. They'll get over it, and you need the break. I'm not sure how serious your financial situation is, but if you're in danger of becoming homeless, you can search online for a local woman's shelter, which may take you and your kids in until you get things sorted out, or help you find resources in your area.
If you have any family or friends (or the kids' father) who could help, now's the time to swallow your pride and ask for help. You need some relief, to get rested up and get your courage back. "Asking for What You Want" will show you how to get help successfully, "Comforting the Little Orphan Girl" will teach you how to comfort yourself, "The Courage to Hope" will lift your spirits, and "Into Every Life" shows you a way to get through hard times. You can also call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-TALK. They will offer resources and help. I'm glad you reached out to me, and I hope you'll reach out to others for help and support.
