Janet and Chris Attwood, internationally renowned Passion Test Founders, share:
“Your passions are the pipelines to your soul. When you are connected to your passions, you feel happy, self-motivated, fulfilled, engaged, and worthwhile. And when you are disconnected from your true purpose, you become unhappy and ultimately depressed.”
The recent Gallup Study on Engagement (http://www.gallup.com/poll/181289/majority-employees-not-engaged-despite...) showed that the majority of U.S. employees are not engaged, despite company gains in 2014. Gallup defines engagement as being enthusiastic about and committed to their work and workplace.
The study found:
- Only 31.5% of U.S. employees were engaged in 2014, that is less than a third
- Younger workers are least engaged
Many people wake up every morning dragging themselves out of bed, dreading going to work and various aspects of their day, wishing for something different and better. Many are wishing without being really sure of what it is they want or how to get it. But hey, it doesn't have to be this way.
Get inspired and read what Janet and Chris Attwood say about this topic: “All successful people have passion and have learned to make decisions based on what really matters to them. Even when others tell them they’re crazy or declare that a goal is impossible, they follow their hearts—their passions.”
We all have a wide range of unique gifts and ways how we want to express ourselves. However, too often, we do not allow our gifts to shine - do not spend time in areas that are important to us. We worry about what other people would say. We think we cannot afford the time and money to do what is significant to us and what truly matters. Day after day, doing something that is not aligned with our purpose, makes us unhappy and unwell. People even get sick by living a life that is not aligned with their purpose and passions.
When mind, body and spirit are not in sync, we are in dis-ease.
Jack Canfield, Co-Creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul® series experienced the power of reviewing his passions:
“When I did the work on discovering your passion with Chris and Janet in a workshop, I wasn’t expecting that much to happen because I am already living my passion — teaching others about how to become more successful. However, their powerful process took me to an even deeper place, where I realized I was not spending enough time with my true number one passion — my family! That realization, and the other work they did with me, has changed the way I have lived the past year."
Once we are clear on what we want and what’s important to us, we take inspired actions toward our goal. We are in flow. We are aligned and mind, body and spirit are in sync.
With this clarity we can make decisions based on our purpose, passion and priorities and advance effortlessly on our chosen path. With this renewed focus, we are given the attention to what we want and whatever we focus on grows and blossoms.
