Christian boundaries are a source of confusion for many Christians, especially when they are in difficult relationships. We wonder what a boundary is. We wonder if we have the right to set boundaries. We wonder what our boundaries should be. We wonder if we should adjust our limits when people refuse to respect the boundaries we have. We wonder what other people would do in a similar situation.  We wonder why we need boundaries. We wonder if our boundaries will be challenged.  We wonder what kind of boundaries God would want us to have. In order to strengthen our boundaries, we need to embrace these 10 truths about boundaries:

1.  Boundaries are simply limits that define what you will and won't do.

2.  Boundaries are not about making the other person do what you want them to do.

3.  Boundaries are how you define what you are responsible for and not responsible for.

4.  Boundaries are not only your right; they are your responsibility.

5.  Boundaries are not unchangeable; you can change your boundaries to fit changing circumstances, but you should only adjust your limits if it is a compromise that you are willing and able to live with.

6.  It doesn't matter what another person would do in the same situation, because boundaries are your own specific limit and are not a matter of what is right and wrong.

7.  Boundaries are a means of defining who you are.

8.  Boundaries are a means of gaining power over your own life.

9.  Your boundaries are going to be challenged and will require you to stand firm in your convictions.

10. Jesus had strong boundaries. God wants our boundaries to make a stand for what is right and against what is wrong.

You are a steward over your own life and you will give an answer for how you lived it (Matthew 12:36). Embracing these 10 truths about Christian boundaries in relationships will empower you to live your life the way you truly want to.
