At one point in time, someone could be able to handle life, and, at another, they could be in a very bad way. This could show that they have just experienced a breakup or a loss, or perhaps they have just lost their job.

Irrespective of what has taken place, they are not going to be the person who they were before. Not only can it be a challenge for them to come to terms with what has taken place, it could be a challenge for most, if not all, of the people in their life to accept what is going on.

Totally Caught Up

There is also the chance that one is in such a bad way that they can’t even think clearly, thereby preventing them from even questioning what is going on. This is likely to show that they have a lot going on emotionally.

Due to how out of control this part of their being is, it won’t be possible for their thinking brain to function properly. To use an analogy: it will be as though they were a well-functioning machine and now they will be a machine that keeps malfunctioning and is unable to do the simplest of tasks.

One Big Challenge

Before all this took place, they may have found it relatively easy to get out of bed, but now this could be incredibly difficult. If they are able to do this, it could take a lot of willpower.

The oomph that was there before might no longer be there and/or they could just feel too overwhelmed to handle life. Therefore, although they might look the same, they certainly won’t be the same on the inside.

A Very Dark Place

They may have been full of life and very positive before, but this will be a thing of the past. In general, they could often feel down and helpless, and they could experience a fair amount of fear and anxiety.

It might go even further, though, and they may have moments when they experience suicidal thoughts and feelings. One way of looking at this would be to say that they have fallen apart and are in desperate need of support and guidance so that they can be put back together again.

It’s clear

Based on what they are going through, it could be said that they are this way a result of what took place. What will add weight to this outlook is that, before this took place, they were fine.

Nevertheless, what if they were not actually fine before and what has taken place has triggered what they have been carrying around for many, many years? They will then have been like a building that looks fine from the outside but on the inside, it is in one hell of a state.

Unstable Ground

The person who they were wouldn’t have had strong foundations and this would have meant they were in a very vulnerable position. In a way, it would have been as if their sense of self was built on sand, not rock.

So, even if they created the impression that they were strong and had it all together, this was nothing more than an illusion. This would have fooled other people, and one would have also been fooled by it.

The Floor Was Pulled Away

As their external world changed, it would have undermined the structure that they had in place. This would have caused the parts of themselves that had been kept out of their conscious awareness to rise up to the surface.

Said another way, they would have unknowingly had a dam in place to keep most their inner material from breaking through and this dam will have broken. The two big questions here are: why one wouldn’t one have strong foundations and why they would carry all this baggage?

Way Back

What this can illustrate is that their early years were deeply traumatic, with this being a time when they were abused and/or neglected on a weekly, if not daily, basis. Consequently, they wouldn’t have received the nurturance that they needed in order to develop in the right way.

To handle what was going on, they would have developed a false-self and lost touch with their true-self in the process. This false-self would have been built on top of the trauma that they experienced, which is why it was destined to collapse at one point or another.

A Lot to Handle

What they have been through will have been hard enough to handle and yet, as it has been combined with the trauma that they experienced as a child, it will be unbearable. Through understanding what is going on, what is going on may gradually make complete sense.

Ergo, what may have appeared to be an abnormal reaction before, can be seen as a perfectly normal reaction. This is an example of how important self-awareness is.

Awareness

If one can relate to this, and they are ready to change their life, they may need to reach out for external support. This is something that can be provided by the assistance of a therapist or healer.
