Most likely you have heard of the word chakra, but you might not be aware of what it really is. Chakra is the axis point in our body that communicates the energy of life force. It comes from the Sanskrit language and means “the wheel that constantly spins”. Chakra balancing is one of the most important theories in this philosophy.

Although there are writings that suggest that there are more than 80,000 Chakra points in our body, the 7 of them are the most important ones. Chakra points exist from the top of the head to the bottom of the spine. The point of the chakras are: the base chakra, the navel, the stomach, the heart, the throat, the third eye and the crown chakra. These points are able to transmit and receive signals to and from the surrounding world and are able to influence the mystical, spiritual, emotional and intellectual conditions of the person. These points are always in motion, regardless of whether we are moving or sleeping.

Every action, deed, physical disorder is influenced by the activity of these points, thus, a possible imbalance in our body or soul can be caused by the malfunction of these chakra points. Major illnesses are also associated with the malfunction or disruption of the chakras. Past events also influence and affect these points and, hence, our spiritual and physical condition. Chakra balancing is, therefore, of vital importance.

This means that most of the conditions we have are related to a possible imbalance of the chakras in our body. You can experience some physical symptoms, or a sudden change in your emotions. Some people might think they are depressed due to some past events, or some others might be trying to forget things that have happened to them in the past. Whatever the case is, if you are feeling that you are losing your balance and the overall feeling of well being, one of the major chakra points in your body is not properly functioning. Removing the emotional burden and coming to terms with past events is crucial for your physical and emotional health.

Our body requires and deserves chakra balancing and healing. There are numerous therapies today, such as Reiki, aromatherapy, color therapy and other options that make use of objects such as gemstones, crystals and anything that can open or balance the chakras properly. Some others prefer yoga exercises that are quite beneficial for the maintenance of chakra balance.

Some other methods of chakra balancing require meditation, which is a process of concentrating, focusing and visualizing things that can help you relax and find mental and spiritual relief. The natural healing process is the major principle of chakra balancing, because it allows your mind to find a natural way to harness its powers and make you feel more relaxed and rejuvenated. Chakra points are not tangible; they cannot be felt with your hands or seen with your eyes. But they can be felt with your mind and heart and they can make you perform better in all fields of your life.
