The world is slowly be, coming more health conscious and beginning to care about the environment as well. As a result, we see more and more “green initiatives being taken; the go to market campaigns for food are no longer just those that say “delicious”, but those that say “healthy and delicious”. We have come to kill habits such as smoking to find better alternatives to our dependence. As a result, we have seen increased life expectancies and healthier lifestyles with more and more fit people and lesser and lesser obesity.

However, a great proponent for the human kind in this endeavor to be healthy has been the medical world. Not only has the medical world taken upon itself the responsibility to introduce innovation, but also to help us adopt it. This is an especially difficult step because of the human quality of being paranoid of every new technology. So, the medical field has to take it upon itself to not only innovate but educate about that innovation.

The CBD Controversy:

Of one of the more recent efforts of medical practitioners in trying to convince people to adopt a new substance, the CBD controversy is the most prominent. Why do I call this a controversy? Simply because Cannabidiol (CBD) comes from cannabis – a drug known for its psychoactive qualities. This means, for you to get CBD, you must get cannabis which is illegal.

However, several governments, such as those of Canada and in several states of US, cannabis has been legalized. This is the controversy that CBD carries with it. But the fact of the matter is that if an entire government legalizes a drug, there has to be substantial ground to implement that decision.

CBD Myths:

To take that decision, there are several myths that must be busted. Of these myths, some are:

CBD is just Marijuana:

The first myth that stems from imperfect knowledge among users is that CBD is simply just marijuana itself. So, if there is any difference it is simply that CBD is medical marijuana while marijuana is a plant. No, CBD is not just marijuana. CBD is one of the components found in a cannabis sativa plant. Being one component, it simply means that the cannabis sativa plant is used to extract CBD and not the entire plant. This is also why CBD has been legalized in so many medical facilities.
CBD is psychoactive:

Having psychoactive qualities means that the substance induces a high. So, people who are actually paranoid of using cannabis, are paranoid of the fact that it will induce a high. This is the most popular myth that keeps people from using CBD. However, the truth is very different. CBD does not produce a high.

CBD is one of the very few components in a cannabis plant that does not possess psychoactive qualities. In fact, it is the counterpart of CBD that induces the high upon consuming cannabis. This component is called tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). The most valid reason for this myth is the fact that THC and CBD are always found together, and it is excessively difficult to separate the two.

However, when we talk about CBD products, it just involves CBD, and not THC. Which means that there is no chance of there being any psychoactive qualities of the product.

CBD Curing Depression is Just A Myth:

When it comes to mental disorders, most people tend to not believe that they can be cured completely. Most of this belief stems from the fact that most medicines used for curing mental disorders themselves result in side effects that are difficult to cure. However, a lot of studies focused on the ailment of anxiety and depression have shown that CBD helps considerably in curing anxiety and depression.

Not just that, it has been seen that the Best CBD oil or Nganic CBD has been linked to curing diseases such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and even Post-traumatic stress disorder. However, it must also be remembered that there is still a long way to go before CBD can be effectively employed to cure these diseases. But, that also does not mean CBD use to cure mental disorders is a complete myth or scam.

No Side Effects:

Although CBD has several different advantages, even those that the world had previously given up on, anther myth that the world has seen is that CBD has no side effects whatsoever. This is because companies mostly talk about all the benefits that you could gain from CBD. However, there are disadvantages, as there are to any other thing.

These disadvantages stem from long-term use and also from an incorrect assessment of how much CBD you should use. Among the most common drawbacks of CBD are a loss of appetite, extreme fatigue, sleepiness, diarrhea and so on. This is why CBD use must always be monitored.
