A question that has baffled many civilizations and generations to come is can one still believe in God and science simultaneously? The answer does not have to be as complicated as people make it. There are many parallels between God and science. With the rich diversity of countless forms of life on this planet and beyond, it is completely natural to think that there must be a Creator. Science shows a different route to reaching the same destination. You can understand the working of the universe through either God or science; both go hand in hand.

God is defined differently through each religion, but each religion uses God as a way to explain how the world was created and how it governs. Scientists, engineers, and doctors use various types of science to understand the world, the laws of physics, and the body. Both God and science are ways for people to understand what we see in day-to-day life. Belief in one does not have to negate the other. In fact, belief in one completes the other.

Those who believe strictly in God and not science and vice versa are not completely satisfied with life. The answers to all of their questions remain incomplete therefore they feel emptiness inside. However, those who believe in both God and science find answers to even the most complex problems in life because they have two different ports to gain knowledge.

Lastly, science and the belief in God are united by their ability to end human suffering. For ages, science and technology have increasingly developed to aid humanity and help cure many diseases. Similarly, having faith and belief in God has empowered millions of people to preserve themselves through harsh difficulties in life that are unimaginable to most. Furthermore, the laws and major theories in science prove that contradiction within science cannot exist. Similarly, there are no contradictions within spirituality or for believing that God exists.

For many people the existence of God is difficult to accept because people feel as if it cannot be proven. However, when a scientist conducts experiments in the lab, when the rest of the world learns about the scientist’s discoveries, we believe what we hear without testing it ourselves. This is because there is a belief that the experiments were done properly, and the results are as predicted and accurate just like H2+O= water. The same logic goes for believing in God’s existence.

Although we cannot directly experiment to prove it, we can feel and experience it through the results of natural phenomena. Both, the belief in God and science are pieces of the puzzle to make the whole picture clear to us and to give us a more holistic, exact understanding of the world.
