I’m a massive motorbikes fan, I love the thought of two wheels and the speed and thrill involved. Unfortunately I have not got the guts to ride though; I’m a bit wary of other road users and their lack of respect for motorbikes.

If I did have a motorbike license I would definitely want two bikes, one as my commuter and one as my leisure/touring bike. My commuter bike would be a Suzuki Ninja, in black. My leisure bike would have to be some form of Harley Davidson. I love the thought of having a big comfy bike to ride around the country lanes of Hertfordshire.

I’ve always had a soft spot for Harley Davidson bikes, a few years back I was worried they would not survive the financial crisis and would fold. So I was pleasantly surprised to read a BBC news story about Harley Davidson making profit this year!

According to the BBC report the motorbike brand’s profits are up to £73 million for the first quarter of this year, compared to £68 million last year it’s a great achievement. Apparently this increase is mainly down to profits generated by its financial services arm.

Even with these positive figures Harley still expects to deliver fewer bikes in 2011 than it did in 2010. The Harley Davidson supply chain has been majorly affected by the earthquakes and Tsunami in Japan.

Chief executive Keith Wandell said, "While we continue to be encouraged by our overall progress, we are maintaining a cautious outlook for the year."
