A popular place for SPAIN HOLIDAY HOMES is the beautiful seaside beach resort of Blanes. This excellent resort sits on four kilometres of pristine golden beaches fronted by the crystal clear waters of the Mediterranean. This coastal resort located on the Costa Brava in Catalonia is the perfect place for couples or young families. Even though Blanes has become in recent times a popular tourist destination it still retains that traditional Spanish fishing village atmosphere.
The Blanes beach is called Cala Blanes: this is a wonderful four kilometre stretch of golden sands that never seems to be over crowded. You will never have a problem finding a place to call your own to relax, play beach tennis or go for a swim. If you are a little more adventurous the water sports of water skiing, scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, windsurfing, surfing and sailing are available for you to take part in. While you are staying in Blanes there are other parts of the Costa Brava that you can explore. Some of the nearby beaches along the coast include Cala Sant Francesco, Punta Santa Anna and Cala Cristina: they're just waiting for you to explore.
One of the best ways to explore the coastline is by walking. Some of the walks along the coastline take you high on top of the magnificent cliffs that seem to dominate this area. Be sure and bring your camera with you as there some fantastic photo opportunities. While walking along the cliff top take note of the local flora and fauna that make this area so beautiful. If you explore the coastline from a boat it will give you the opportunity to find those little secluded coves where you can spend a little private time. If you want to see what the underwater world has to offer without getting your little toes wet, consider taking one of the glass-bottom boat trips along the cost.
The game of golf is well catered for in the immediate area. This includes the nine hole Club Golf l'Angel which is reportedly the best course in the whole of Catalonia. With the beautiful countryside, you can understand why course designers have been able to work their magic and build some of the best courses along this stretch of coast. As a result there is an excellent choice of courses to play.
If you not busy in Blanes then just sixty kilometres along the coast is the cosmopolitan city of Barcelona where you will find more than enough to keep you busy. There is a lot to see and do in this sophisticated city, including shopping in the chic boutiques and eating out at one of the top class restaurants. Barcelona is also known as the party capital of the Costa Brava especially for the younger crowd. If you have time, the historical sites in this magnificence city present an opportunity to expand your knowledge of Spanish history. With so much to see and do in Barcelona on a day out, it’s better to prioritize what you would like to do as this will make sure you see all that you want to.
When travelling to Blanes where you have booked your SPAIN HOLIDAY HOMES the best airport to fly into is Barcelona Airport. It is a sixty kilometres journey to your final destination so be sure and make arrangements for transportation to Blanes. If you can arrange a flight from the smaller Girona Airport, it is only twenty kilometres from Blanes and there are a number of low cost airlines that fly in to Girona.
