Starting meditation can be a confusing process. With all the different techniques and styles available it can be hard to know where to start. How do I know this? Because I've been in that exact same position, and I know how overwhelming all the information can be. I want to help you sort through all of the clutter. First, I'd like to go into beginner meditation benefits.

Are you already overwhelmed with just trying to find what kind of meditation is right for you? If yes, then that's perfect! One of the greatest benefits of starting meditation, is stress relief. Within the first week of starting your program you'll experience a greater peace of mind, which translates directly to lower stress levels. Meditation has been proven to lower your body's production of cortisol (the stress hormone.) How great is that! Imagine, just devoting an hour or less a day and you could be experience lowered stress levels.

Another noted benefit is increased intelligence. Simply by meditating your brain constructs new neural pathways to help you process information faster and make new connections. Meditation allows both hemispheres of your brain to come into harmony with one another, allowing for full brain processing (think along the lines of Leonardo da Vinci, or Albert Einstein!) By starting your beginner meditation, you can be well on your way to unlocking mental capabilities you never knew you had!

For those of you (me included) dealing with issues regarding self-esteem, and confidence, beginner meditation can help improve both by leaps and bounds. Spending time in solace each day allows your mind to reflect, and "dump out all the garbage", so to speak. When your mind can function at a more efficient level, it allows you to consciously weed out the negative thoughts. Did you know that your mind pumps out around 60,000 thoughts a day, around which 80% are negative! Through beginner meditation you can alter your thinking process to get rid of those negative thoughts, which spur low self-esteem and other issues, and in turn create happy thoughts, which aid in increased levels of confidence and self-worth!

These three benefits are only a few of the thousands (okay I might be exaggerating a little) of benefits that are possible though your meditation practice. Although, these changes wont take place right away you will be able to feel the onset of these benefits during your first week. Which will hopefully have you coming back for more!
