Do you know what makes you happy? Is it money? Is it Your spouse? Is it your girlfriend/boyfriend? Is it your best friend? Who is it or are all these choices all wrong?

Let us start with money. Between having money and being broke having money is in first place. And having a large amount of money takes the stress out of that part of your life. Being able to make mortgage payments, car payments and the normal household expenses like food, electric, heat and phone are very satisfying.

Living in a nice home and driving a nice car is very rewarding. Your home is where you come to relax and unwind in pleasant surroudings. Your car is very important too. Having one that runs well all the time is a pleasant feeling. There is nothing worse than the feeling of being on a highway late at night with a car that has broken down.

How about your spouse? Does she make you happy when she is with you? I hope so, but in this day and age not too many stay together long term. Most spouses also work so they have their lives to live. How about girlfriend/boyfriend? People change these like they change their socks. As far as best friends go we all move a lot and lose track of each other.

The answer is none of the above. The one person that makes you happy is you! Although you may get some good feelings from a car, home, spouse, etc. they are always temporary. Being happy is a decision we make everyday. When you get up in the morning look in the mirror and say "I will be happy all day today. I know problems will come up and I will handle them. My happiness has nothing to do with challenges. My being happy is constant and nothing is going to interfere with me being happy."

Take complete responsibility for what happens to you and you will eliminate the blame game. Do not play it, because it is self defeating and solves nothing. Start right now and take "responsibility" to be happy.

To your committed success,
